The banshee paused, staring at the mechanic at the way he reacted. Why wasn’t he running away…? At his question, a small, sad smile appeared on her face, quietly approaching him. Her voice grew soft as she let out a small sigh, sitting on the ground.
"What about me…? Do you see what I am? What I have become? I’m a monster…even if I were to leave, where would I go? I could…never return home like this…” The lump in her throat grew at the thought of her kingdom. Her parents. Family.
She would never see them again.
Closing her eyes, more blood spilled down her cheeks, as if she were crying. “…a monster isn’t fit to rule a kingdom, Souda-san. It’s too late for me…but…not for you…” Sonia looked up at him, her eyes glowing less intensely to the point where her irises and pupils were slightly visible.
"…please…"

The fear the threatened to start up the boy’s waterworks was being accompanied by guilt and the sensation of his heart sinking a little in his chest. The way he screamed at her just moments ago would have hurt wouldn’t it? He didn’t think about or even consider her feelings; mostly thanks to her frightful appearance. Actually, it was more like he didn’t think she had feelings in the first place.
He dropped down on one knee before the princess and grasped onto the bars of her prison. Kazuichi hoped that he wasn’t shaking. "S-Sonia-san…" The corner of his lips turned downwards after hearing his own voice, that came out as a raspy croak.
"What’s going to happen to you?"
Sonia quietly watched him as he gripped onto the bars of her cage, the frown on her face deepening more. He seemed so upset--so close to tears. Then again, she would have felt the same way if she discovered her friends within this type of situation.
For once, however, she was glad she was in this situation. At least Souda didn't have to suffer. He was safe and could live his own life.
At his question, she averted her eyes, her hands gripping onto the floor a bit. What was going to happen...? Even she couldn't answer that.
"...I...don't know....to be honest...I do not see how my situation can possibly get any worse, Souda-kun..." Her her lips curved faintly into a sad smile, watching her friend through the bars of her prison.
"I have...lost everything...there is nothing more for me to lose, except possibly my life. But as things are now...I would probably accept death with open arms..." She shook her head gently, placing a hand very cautiously on one of his own. The last thing Sonia wanted to do was scare him again.
"...don't worry about me, Souda-san...it's too late."
