He enters the building at the heels of the inebriated mortal couple exiting it and as he brushes right past, they don't notice him.

The bartender already under Armand's thrall looks at him without seeing. There are only a sparse few patrons left, but none react to the slight figure dressed neatly from head to toe in black.

When Armand slides into the empty bar stool next to Damon Salvatore, the man tending bar carries on with his tasks as if no one's approached.

"Of all the gin joints in all the world," Armand watches Damon with preternaturally bright eyes. His voice is soft; amused. This evening he's worn his hair naturally rather than styling it, dark ringlets framing his face to curl about his ears and chin, "Virginia?"

Although he just took his initial drink just seconds before, Damon was already interested in a second attempt, but a shorter one. He lifted the fresh glass of bourbon to his lips once more. The slight glow prominent. As he took a sip as opposed to a bigger drink, he sighed softly as the familiar burn warmed his throat. Glancing sideways, he noticed someone sliding into the usually, occupied seat next to him. It broke the temporary solitude he felt at the bar. The new arrival's words however, brought him pause. He placed the drink back on the bartop.

Damon turned and looked at him. His eyes narrow slightly, showing the thought process going on. This was not someone he had seen around Mystic Falls before. He would know, or at least he thought he would. The man was unfamiliar and peculiar all at the same time, taking mental notes on how to proceed. "Bourbon has a better taste than gin," he remarked at first, hand still resting on the side of the glass. "Says the one who is also in Virginia at a 'gin joint.'"

Damon sat somewhat hunched over at the Mystic Grill's bar, in his usual seat towards the middle of the bar. He clearly had a lot of things on his mind. That bitch, Stefan, Elena, weird happenings, he then shook his head, as if trying to clear his head temporarily. A digit traced the rim of his newly given glass, his third or fourth that night. His gaze was slightly distant, staring into the deep amber hues of the liquid within it.

He could hear conversations in the corner and a few of the other booths, subtly listening in as he often did. They were all talking about different things, nothing that was of any concern to him. He ran a hand through his own hair, letting out a sigh. Although the bartender glanced his way, Damon paid him no mind. The man was used to his usual, strange antics by this point. He then takes the initial drink from the glass, sighing with a smile as he did.
