I guess you don't realise how much you grow while you're in the process of 'becoming', until you arrive at a crossroad you have dreamt about for a very long time, where you can indulge in your hunger and thirst, and yet you chose not to because you won't even risk causing discomfort to other people no matter how shitty they have treated you.

I’m not necessarily proud of myself, as I’m aware of my weaknesses and vanities, but there are certain moments when I realise I can easily chose not to do anything with any power laying in my hand; I feel peaceful with who I am, as my moral compass still works correctly and I can chose to be good instead of getting what I need.

You could do it. You didn't. Don't let anyone take the 'good' out of you.
