☼ - Zufash doesn’t quite understand the conversation between Eyahn and Cayde, but she supposes she’s not meant to. She simply clenches the older Guardian’s hand as they make their way through the hangar, giving Cayde a sheepish smile.
When they reach the plaza Zufash can finally sense her father. She senses his worry, his anxiety, and knows that it’s her fault he’s feeling that way. She shrinks against Eyahn’s side as they finally enter Tower North and head towards the Observatory.
Her father has obviously sensed her coming, and descends the stairs of the study immediately, rushing over to Zufash and Eyahn. He kneels down in front of his daughter and wraps his arms around her, holding her close.
“Thank the Light, thank the Light,” the Speaker breathes. He looks around to make sure they’re alone and takes off the mask, his Ghost transmatting it away. His Ghost closes the doors briefly, so they may have some privacy.
He looks up at Eyahn, his expression one of relief. “Thank you, for bringing her back to me.” He places both his hands on either side of Zufash’s face, looking her in the eyes. “Zufash, what were you thinking?”
“I’m sorry,” the girl whispers, sniffling. “I’m so sorry.”
“You could have been killed, Zufash. Light, why did I let you out of my sight?” He stands, grasping one of his daughter’s hands like it’s a lifeline. “What happened?” he asks Eyahn, bringing Zufash to stand in front of him and putting his hands on her shoulders. The girl has the sense to look ashamed.
Eyahn narrowed her eyes at the comment of “being killed” wondering just how much the speaker knew of Cayde’s operations. Despite his demeanor, she knew her Vanguard was almost as good at keeping secrets as she was, and she knew she hadn’t told anyone where she was going or what she was doing.
“I was on assignment. She... found me. There was no trouble.” She insisted. Her lips are pursed and her face is barren, Eyahn is perfect at her craft. She won’t let anything out, unless the Speaker already knows some other way.
“She was with me much of the time, and was not a problem.” She added, trying to assure him everything was okay, in hopes of not letting her little friend get into too much trouble.
