Hoping to get back to it for spooky month!
With the flash away from their face, the mermaid lowers their hand. They seem to be glaring at Godet, but its hard to tell.
Godet tries to talk to the mermaid again.
"I promise, I'm just here to talk, I won't hurt you"
They observe her with growing disinterest. Maybe this approach is not working, maybe another should be chosen. Thinking on it, Godet concludes that she must be speaking too softly to be heard.
What now?
Yell?!
Turn on the light of the room
Touch the glass
Inspect the aquarium
Explore the room more
Get out!
Other (ask)
With a guilty voice, the reporter whispers to the mermaid
"Hey there, it's ok... sorry for surprising you"
Their hand covers their face. They don't look like they heard anything that she said. In a stroke of genius, Godet realises the light in their face might be bothering them and turn the flash towards the ceiling instead. She can't see them as well now, though.
What now?
Try talking again?
Turn on the light of the room
Touch the glass
Explore the room more
Get out!
Other (ask)
Godet takes a moment to calm down, and goes back for more! With the flash of her camera, she peers into the glass tank and...
Oh! Oh. That is definitely a mermaid, isn't it? They recoil from the light that the wannabe reporter is shining directly in their face, but other than that, they don't seem too hostile.
What now?
Try talking
Take more pics
Turn off the flash
Touch the glass
Get out!
Other (Ask)
Go forth, girl! Get that scoop! Did you bring fish food
She certainly did not!
There's a thunk on the glass tank. She feels it shake. Godet stepped to the side after taking that picture and did not see how the creature reacted.
What now?
Book it. Come back later.
Stay, investigate better. There may not be a next time.
Something else? (Askbox or comments)
alright lift that blankie the suspense is killing us
She who risks nothing gets nothing. Godet swiftly removes part of the tarp and takes a picture.
Something gets disturbed by the flash.
Oops?
What now?
Unable to see anything in the darkness, Godet turns on her flash camera and makes her way to the back of the room.
Curiosity killed the cat, is this really such a good idea?
Well, time to announce that you’re not an enemy, seems you scared whatever was being shiny. Don’t just go and lift the cloth without permission!
Godet carefully assert that she is a friend and just wants to talk.
Nothing changes.
Happy booping!

shitty summary: moist askblog for fishes to enjoy
Fair. You are all my fishes
Reblog if you want a shitty summary of your blog in your inbox.
What's under that tarp? Go take a look?
Certain that this was the place she was looking for, Godet closed the door behind her.
She currently can't see anything and the idea of moving around in the dark is not one she likes.
Say “Hello, anyone here?”
Softly, she calls out into the room. Whatever was making that light stops. She can barely see into the room now...
After going down a flight of stairs and testing a few rooms... Godet stumbles upon a very interesting one.
What should she do?
Ohh you’re looking for the mermaid! What will you do, interview him?
"Interview with a mermaid"... Now that's one hell of a way to launch a career!
Definitely tempting, but first she needs to confirm that there is a mermaid. And that said mermaid can understand her. And that publishing said interview wouldn't harm it.
Really, she's not sure what she is doing right now, but those liminal spaces won't explore themselves!
