With a guilty voice, the reporter whispers to the mermaid
"Hey there, it's ok... sorry for surprising you"
Their hand covers their face. They don't look like they heard anything that she said. In a stroke of genius, Godet realises the light in their face might be bothering them and turn the flash towards the ceiling instead. She can't see them as well now, though.
(Is this against the rules?) StarxEel bite :3c (just delete it if it's against the rules thsbjdnsjns)
Send me a "Bite" and I'll write a drabble about one character (gently) biting the other
*Sighs dramatically* I will accept it.
Having a mermaid friend is really cool! At least, it’s what Star thinks. The one problem with his half fish friend tho? He’s like. Really heavy.
He thought it would be nice spending some time with Eel and play and talk and stuff. He didn’t plan on falling asleep, together, in the shallow part of his pool. He also didn’t plan that Eel would move in his sleep, so much so that he had now his buddy draped all over him. He would have been chill with it — they’re just two bros hanging out, on top of each other’s but they’re not gay — if it wasn’t for… being actually chilly. It was night now, the water felt cold, and Eel wasn’t even irradiating warmth, so he couldn’t cuddle the cold away.
He had to get out of the pool, somehow, and without waking Eel up. That wouldn’t be cool of him. He tried wiggling around, but the darkness of the night made it hard to see if he was worsening or bettering his situation. Not to mention it was making him feel… kinda angsty. He really wished he had kept his cape on, then remembered how much of a bother it is to dry. At least his buddy was like, right next to him! So that made him feel safer. He wiggled again, feeling like he could move his left leg freely again.
Unfortunately, that prompted Eel to move in his sleep and trap Star even more. Now there was hair in his mouth. He tried getting rid of it, and accidentally bit down on Eel’s side fin. He felt a jostle of electricity shake him as repercussion. The mermaid’s skin was glowing indigo, forcing Star to squint. Eel was definitely awake now. Fuck. He moved out of Star’s way, freeing him from the weight. Star took a relieved breath. The pressure was starting to be uncomfortable. He turned to Eel, wanting to apologise.
"Sorry dude, I—"
Eel was looking at him with a blush covering his face, his head barely poking out of the water in an attempt to hide it. Only his eyes were over the water, and they were looking at him, with an expression Star couldn’t quite make sense of. Still, he felt embarrassed at being fixed like that. He stuttered, unable to find the words he wanted to say. In the end, he got up and mumbled a "sorry I have to go" before bolting out of the pool and into his house.
Godet takes a moment to calm down, and goes back for more! With the flash of her camera, she peers into the glass tank and...
Oh! Oh. That is definitely a mermaid, isn't it? They recoil from the light that the wannabe reporter is shining directly in their face, but other than that, they don't seem too hostile.
