Riley was bored. Totally and properly bored. She couldn’t help it. No one was playing with her. She didn’t have any paper left to draw with, and she had already read all of her books. Suddenly she heard someone come in, and she jumped up and ran over to them. 

Play with me! She whined tugging on the ankles of their pants.

Davyn chuckled, picking up the small fairy child.

Okay, okay. he replied. Sorry I've been neglecting you Tink. Sensei has been very demanding lately. What do you want to do today?

A GERMAN HAND-AND-A-HALF SWORD, SAXON, CIRCA 1580

With broad double-edged blade, of flattened oval section, inlaid with a latten orb and cross mark within the short fuller on one side of the forte, the ricasso with incised borders struck with three unidentified maker’s marks on both sides. The blackened steel hilt comprising conical-shaped pommel, side-rings and counter guards, with straight quillons having spatulate tips and button terminals and shagreen covered grip of tapering oval section covered with leather above the shoulder.

Kids, I don't care what your mother says, we're going to Disney World.

"Dad, aren’t we a little old to go to Disney World?" asked Delilah, raising an eyebrow.

"Cool. When do we leave?" said Davyn, ever the child at heart.

Yes. Riley said smiling. I wanna play.

What do you want to do then? he asked. Do you want to play a board game? Or maybe with some dolls?

Nothing. Riley signed before flopping on the floor. Truth was she wasn’t happy because no one was playing with her. But now that they asked she didn’t want to give them the dignity of letting them know that she wasn’t happy.

The twins shared a look, beginning to speak through facial expressions and slight gestures. Delilah looked to Riley, then back to Davyn, who nodded his head and put away the sharpening stone and blade. He stood up and moved over to Riley, sitting beside her on the couch. Delilah watched them out of the corner of her eye, but continued to channel surf.

 Do you want to play Tink? signed Davyn, giving Riley a goofy smile.

Who said we were ignoring you? signed Delilah, reclined in the couch while surfing the TV channels.

Is there something wrong? asked Davyn, turning his attention away from the blade he had been sharpening.

Jade hilted Dagger

Dated: 18th century

Place of Origin: India

Measurements: overall length: 9.5in (240mm). Blade length: 5in (130mm)

This is an 18th century, Mughal, jade hilted Indian dagger with original scabbard and a beautifully shaped and sweeping pistol-grip jade hilt. The handle is made from a single piece of green jade. The pommel is carved with spear shaped leaves and is set on both sides with large rubies in gold mounts.

The steel bolster is nicely cut and faceted, and then covered in scrolling thick gold koftagri. The blade is forged from dark Wootz Damascus steel. The scabbard has a wooden core covered with velvet, and remains of silver wire stitching.

Walloon Sword

Dated: 16th century

Measurements: overall length: 85 cm. Blade length 69.8 cm

The handle is made wood with wire wrap, while the guard is fitted with a knuckle guard, finger guard, side ring (with plate) and a single short quillon. The pommel is large with diagonal groves and gives the sword a large balance. The blade is comprised of a single fuller, spear point and shows signs of use. The wolf symbol is stamped on each side of the forte with the number “1441”.
