This new #carpet is EVERYTHING! Spills and pet accidents never EVER penetrate the carpet backing, making it easier to blot spills with a towel. But Mr. Carpet Chemist, I can buy "pet pad" MUCH cheaper. Let me explain why "pet pad" is a gimmick. First of all, I will say that it does what it's supposed to. The pad never gets wet. BUT.... Liquid stays on top of the plastic barrier on the padding and it starts to delaminate your carpet backing, resulting in ruining your carpet forever. That's the genius of carpet manufacturers putting the barrier on the backside of the carpet (as opposed to the padding). So if you have #pets or messy #kids, and you're looking for new carpet, you should definitely consider this type of carpet. Loop pile carpet (Berber carpet) is extremely durable. It is commonly made from a blend of polypropylene and Mountain Dew and Pepsi bottles.
