The Right Girl...Part Four
Two days later on Tuesday at the same time, but at different places, happened almost the same. Two people nervously prepared for their upcoming date.
At Windsor Castle Charles stood in front of the mirror and grimacing tried to adjust his tie. Suddenly he stopped. Maybe his getup was a bit overdressed? He was wearing a grey suit, a bright wide shirt with cufflinks and polished Budapesters. He looked as he was about to go to one of his engagements, but not out to a date in the park.
No longer Charles didn´t wonder about himself. Since the weekend his life was upside down, nothing seemed to be as it always was. Many things in his well sorted life felt suddenly ridiculous to him, he didn´t care about reading the newspaper or watching the news programme on TV, he even didn´t care about reading a book or doing some paintings, he wasn´t hungry at all and sometimes he even forgot to drink something. He wandered through the day as if he was in the land of dreams, just thinking about a blond, curly girl with sparkling blue eyes and a stunning smile and he counted the seconds to their next meeting.
He wasn´t aware of the illness that had stricken him. It was the illness he always had laughed about, because he doubted that it really existed: he was love sick.
Desperate he rumbled around in his wardrobe to find something more suitable. In London he had at least one jeans, but due to his confused mind he forgot to pack them. And actually, he hadn´t lost one single thought about his dress for today, problems like that were new to him.
And something else was new. He really had lied to his mother for the first time. They had a reception the last night here in the castle and stayed overnight. In the morning he was expected to leave with his parents to go to the meeting in London with all the private secretaries. During the breakfast he hardly was able to eat something, he lied that he had forgotten the meeting. And that he had arranged an appointment with someone to make further plans with one of his charities. And this meeting would be here in Windsor. His father started to scold him: what on earth was up with him! His mother just frowned and demanded Philip to stop. If this would never happen again it would be alright, she just told himâŚ
Finally Charles found something to dress he was tolerably fine with. He jumped into a dark grey pair of flairs and a light blue chequered shirt. He even found a pair of shoes with a used look, now he felt more at ease.
A few miles away in London Camilla stood in front of her wardrobe as well. Her decision not to make any fuss about her dress again didn´t work. Like two days ago her bed and the floor around were covered with jeans, shirts and dresses. One by one was sorted out: too boring, too old, too sexy, ugly, overdressed, underdressedâŚand then one by one was in the choice again.
Finally she was sure that the mint green fluttering summer dress with the small straps was perfect. But what should she do with her hair? Desperately she tousled it in front of the mirror, tried to pin it up, to make a ponytail and so on. And then she decided to leave it as it always was, this simply was her natural hairdo and end of story. But at least a very little Makeup wouldn´t be that badâŚ
The rest of the Sunday and the whole Monday she had brooded about her new acquaintance. What would be the right thing to do? Until Saturday evening she was more or less sure how her life would went on. And suddenly everything was different. But whatever she turned over in her mind, in the end it didn´t make any sense. So finally this morning, while still lying in her bed, she made the decision to simply let run everything. Once again it had turned out that making plans weren´t the right thing for Camilla Shand. It didn´t work anyway, it never had. She would go on, it always was the best for her. Just living the day.
Andrew had a really huge place in her heart, though he actually didn´t earn it, she grunted. Until Saturday she thought he had filled all the place in her heart. But obviously there was even more space. And this space was slowly filled by a sweet, little prince. Although she wasn´t sure today if it really was slowly or if this cute and somehow strange boy wouldn´t storm it.
She hadn´t tell to anyone about her date. Not to her friends who teased her the whole Sunday about Charles, not to her sister and not to Virginia, her flatmate. If she would get lost on the way she would be first missed by Charles, she laughed. CharlesâŚit was so natural to call him simply Charles just after this short time, she wondered. Somehow strangeâŚ
She looked at the clock and grimaced. She had dressed herself too early or she was too fast with it. No, obviously not too fast. Camilla sighed while watching the mess of dresses in her room. But she wasn´t in the mood for tidying up now, maybe she could relax while reading something.
Of course she could not. After reading the first words she just stared into the book, lost in thoughts. So, maybe a magazine would do it. She browsed through the Vogue, Virginia had bought it, and was bored. She simply wasn´t a clotheshorse. She grabbed the next paper and stared at Charles on the cover. He was photographed standing beside his horse in his polo dress and shyly smiled to the camera. She grabbed the paper with both of her hands now and stared at the photo. She didn´t recognize her rapt smile, but she felt how incredible thrilled she was to meet him soon.
Determined she jumped up. She would leave now! Maybe there was a traffic jam or she wouldn´t find the way at the first goâŚand actually it doesn´t matter if she was too early it would be one of the first times in her life, she chuckled.
She went to the loo and checked herself in the mirror again. Then she grabbed her car key and slammed the door. Five seconds later she opened the door again and went to the loo for the second time. Who knows when she would get this opportunity again during the next hours? But actually she knew this wasn´t the problem. She simply was too excited now.
Camilla dreamily turned around the corner to get to her car. She stopped and shocked stared on the street. Oh no, her car was stolen! What should she do now!? She didn´t even had a phone number to call Charles! Suddenly she loudly laughed and tapped her forehead. She really had a memory like a sieve! Yesterday coming home from work her usually park space was taken and she was forced to park two streets afar. Chuckling she went over there and was relieved to spot her little rusty and dented Ford stuck between two really huge cars.
Somehow she managed to get out there and started in the direction to Windsor. She felt her heart bumping heavier again and a slightly rumbling in her stomach. So she turned the music louder and sang along, while puffing away a few cigarettes out of the open window.
But she made a good time, there were no problems at all on the streets and at one go she found the right way. She passed the shield âPrivate areaâ and watched her clock in the car. She moaned, of course it was broken. What else! And of course she had forgotten her wrist watch! Was she really on time? Luckily the radio moderator just now announced the time: a quarter to 2 a.m. Camilla relieved exhaled, she obviously had around fifteen minutes to calm down. She turned around the next corner and spotted the huge gate.
And in front of the gate waited Charles.
He stood there like a tin soldier, stark and stiff and stared at her. Slowly a very shy smile played around his lips. She couldn´t see that he winced as he heard her noisy car arriving. His heart made a really huge bump and suddenly he felt overwhelmed. Thousands of thoughts rushed through his mind in only one second. What if he would behave awkwardly? If he would say stupid things again? If he wouldn´t know what to say at all? If she wouldn´t like it here?
But on the other hand he was absolutely overjoyed to watch her in this shabby little car. Her bright smile hit him directly into his stomach and he felt the armada of butterflies again. Finally he was able to move and slowly walked over to her car that she parked in the shadow of a tree.
The door squeaky opened and without thinking about it Charles reached his hand to help her out. And obviously without thinking too Camilla grabbed his hand and jaunty jumped out.
By watching Charles she decided to try to stay cool. And she was cool now. At least someone had to be cool yet, as Charles recognized what he had just done. He heavy blushed and just stumbled a ââŚHâŚhelloâŚâ. Camilla answered her âhelloâ and was confused how joyfully and lovingly it came out of her. Hesitantly they stood face-to-face for a few seconds before Camilla slightly bent forward to give him a welcome kiss on both cheeks. Relieved Charles grabbed her upper arm and imbibed her wonderful smell. There was a rest of cigarettes in the air, but he didn´t mind. With all other people in his world he cared, but not with Camilla.
Still holding her upper arm Charles smiled to her: âAnd, how are you? Did you sit in traffic? Was it easy to find here?â Camilla was a bit confused, was he really interested in this? Accordingly to his eyes and his facial expression he was. âYesâŚeverything is fineâŚâ she breathed. Charles smiled satisfied and nodded. Camilla felt her stomach tumbling again.
Charles exhaled and tightened his shoulders: âSo, shall we go then?â She smiled as an answer and so Charles went ahead and opened a smaller door in the gate to go in. There was a gatehouse and Camilla friendly greeted the gatekeeper. He wasn´t really interested, he continued reading his newspaper and just grunted something. Charles however recognized it very much and he liked it. He didn´t know many people who greeted the staff.
In this part of the Windsor Great Park there was a small wood and so they trapped along an earthy road. Through the trees the sunrays fell and covered Camilla into a special shine. Her hair had a golden touch and slightly fluttered in the breeze. With sparkling eyes she looked around while walking: âOh, this is wonderful here.â Charles eyes glued on her and wandered down her body. She looked adorable. She was tanned, her mint green dress almost radiated on her skin and the way it fluttered around her body left him almost breathless. She had well trained arms and legs. Oh, he was already in love with these legs. His eyes wandered up again. He had recognized her curvy hips before and he liked it. He didn´t care about twiggy-like women, no, this here was really alright. And he wouldn´t mind about a little bit more of curves. His eyes wandered up again. And, oh my god! What a cleavage! Her last two dresses had shown a little bit. But what he could see now was mind swirling! Would he really be that lucky?! Having a girlfriend like out of his dreams? Inside and outside? âNoooo, Charles!â his brain screamed to him. âStop dreaming. She isn´t your girlfriend.â âNot yet,â Charles answered his brain.
He wanted to say how beautiful she was. But he simply didn´t dare. His eyes wandered over to her again and again and he had already opened his mouth, but he simply didn´t dareâŚ
âThis is the woodland of your family, Charles?â Camilla asked him while strolling. Once again Charles´ heart jumped. It sounded so wonderful how she speaks out his name. But he still didn´t dare to call her by her first name, though he found it the most wonderful name in this world. And it fitted her perfectly well. She not only had the name of a flower, she was a flower! And it sounded as bright and jolly as she really was!
Charles shrugged his shoulders: âYes, it belongs to the castle. But it´s not just the wood, there are meadows and grasslands and so on. I don´t know how many acres. But you can ride here around quite a long time without reaching any fences.â Camilla had to laugh now. Her family was fairly wealthy as well. But Charles´ world was totally crazy. He wasn´t arrogant or pretentious in any way. It was just so normal to him to have all this. But she knew that he didn´t know anything else. He was born into this, he always was a prince with a family leading a gigantic, somewhat surreal lifestyle.
Charles felt that she wasn´t laughing about him. At least he could imagine that his life sounds strange to the most of the people. But he felt once again that he could open his heart to her. With his hands in his trouser pockets he told her, while walking along the way: âYes, I know, it sounds curious. But I know only this life. And I know that somehow I´m an outsiderâŚâ He looked over to Camilla who stared at him serious and intense listening. Charles couldn´t help but lovingly smile to her. âSometimes I wish I had a different life. Please, don´t laugh at me nowâŚâ he shyly looked over to her again. Camille slightly smiled and her eyes told him to continue, she wouldn´t laugh and his secret would be safe. âSometimes I just want to beâŚa farmer.â It was out and he turned his head around, a bit anxious how she would react. But she took him serious, he simply knew it and it felt very good.
In Camilla grew a prescience how profound and contemplative this young man really was.
Charles felt secure to continue: âI wished I had an old house surrounded by an old styled garden with wonderful flowers and trees. A few meadows and grassland around with sheep and horses. And I would plough, plant, cutting the trees and hedges the whole day. And in the evening I would walk around my garden, sitting on a bench for a while with some peace and quiet.â Now he chuckled: âSounds stupid, I know. But at least we have Birkhall and Balmoral. It´s full of staff, but you can find some peace there.â
He didn´t expect an answer from her, he just watched her rushing her hands through her hair. She stared on the ground while walking and then turned around her head to him again: âWhy don´t you buy a farm house? Or an old house with a few acres of land? You could change and style it as you want. Maybe you couldn´t live there all the time. But during the weekends or holidays or just a few days to relax.â Charles stopped and stared at her with an open mouth. Yes, she was right! Of course he could do this. Money wasn´t his problem and nobody could hinder him to buy an own house. And it was his cup of tea what he would do with this house.
Yes, this was something real for the future! Something where he could find hold and what was his very own. He could do what he wants, with his own ideas and he would slam the door if he was annoyed from his family and the press and this public life. Since knowing this heaven-sent girl the future wasn´t so very dark any longer!
Charles just chuckled to her with a desperate expression in his eyes. âWhy on earth I hadn´t had this idea before?â Camilla heartily laughed, her curls waved around her face and Charles wished he could hug her. Hug her for this wonderful idea, hug her because she was so wonderful and hug her because he fell even more in love with her. âSometimes we need someone from outside to see clear,â she answered, and now she was so one who felt not so clear any longer. The way he had opened her heart to her, learning about his deep personality more and more and the feeling that there was so much more inside him and that she would probably like all this overwhelmed her somehow. Not to mention the way he looked and smiled to herâŚ
Silent for a short while they continued walking and the wood slowly cleared. Camilla turned her head to Charles, at the same time he looked over to her and they brightly grinned. A few seconds later happened the same, the both of them had to chuckle now.Â
Charles heavy blushed and Camilla felt her face heating up too. Once more she turned to Charles, but rather out of the corner of her eyes. And once again Charles looked over to her too, but he grimaced with wide eyes, chubby cheeks and a strange grin now. Camilla just burst out into laughter, he looked so funny. Not ridiculous, just funny. Charles joint her, he couldn´t help, her laughter was so infectious.
And he didn´t know where he took this courage from, but he was just so very much at ease with her. Of course very, very nervous, but he felt comfortable. And his heart flourished about the fact that she couldn´t stop giggling over his silly face. Did he really meet someone on his wave length?
A few steps more, around a corner and they had reached a lawn. A group of really old and knobby trees built an alley and at its end Camilla spotted a ruin. It was one of the most wonderful places she had ever seen. It was mysterious and somehow scary, but it was covered into a golden light and in an intensive flavour of flowers. The huge old trees rustled and shadowed the old walls.
She hadn´t expect a place like this here, but she loved it from the first second on. And obviously Charles did the same, he stood there with an excitedly and eagerly facial expression and stared at her. Overwhelmed she said: âOh Charles, I just don´t know what to say! This is really, really wonderful!â Charles heart lifted up once more. Yes, she loved it! He could see it in her sparkling eyes. He felt relieved, but at the same time he panicked more and more. What, if she wouldn´t like him as he hoped she would do, in the way he felt for her? The more he knew her, the more he fell in love. Life with her seemed to be sunshine, life without her would be just darkness.
Sticking on her eyes he answered: âYes, it is my favourite place here. I come here as often as possible. I´m the only person who ever comes here. Beside the forester.â Camilla smiled to him: âAnd me now.â Charles heart bumped heavy again, he just breathed: âYes, and you now.â He wondered, why he actually didn´t bring another person here before. He hadn´t shown it to his grandmother, not to his siblings, not his parents and none of his friends. He always felt it was his very own place. But he hadn´t hesitated one second to bring Camilla here, in fact it was his first idea.
He asked her if she wanted to see more of this place. Smiling and twinkling to him with both eyes she nodded. They walked through the short alley and Charles caught himself by almost laying his hand on her back. Winced he crossed his arms behind his back.
He started to tell her about this building. It was an old lodge, about two hundred years old and he exactly knew which people lived here in which decades, what kind of architecture it was and which characteristics marked this architecture. Usually Camilla wasn´t very interested in these things, but Charles told it in such a fascinating way that her eyes and ears stuck on his lips and she even asked him questions. She really wondered about herself, but with Charles words it didn´t sound dry or boring at all. Once again she recognized that she could listen to him for ages and that his voice was lively, self-confident, even manly if he spoke about topics he really liked.
Charles rapt a smile to her, sinking down in her eyes that still were focussed on him. He actually couldn´t believe that he hit the nail on the head again and she really was interested! Oh, what would he give for hugging her for just one second! Being so close to her must be paradise!
Camilla started to giggle and shrugged her shoulders. With raised eyebrows she said: âOh, if I just had paid more attention in school! But I had fooled around too much and nowâŚI´m stupid!â She chuckled again and Charles simply had to join her. He was already in love with her laugh too. But seriously now he answered her: âNo, never say again you´re stupid. You´re not. For sure.â And his eyes told her the same. He waved aside: âJust look at me! I´m stupid. I know nothing. I don´t know how to get a ticket for the tube or how to pay my electricity bill or even to cook a simple meal!â
She laughed her heart-lifting chuckling again. âSo, that´s perfect! You´ll tell me about all the things I´ve probably never heard before. And I will tell you how to survive if you´d wake up one day in a way too small and shabby flat in the middle of a crazy district in London!â The heaven opened for Charles. Obviously she´d like to see him again. And the words âthat´s perfectâ echoed in his head again and again. Perfect. Perfect was too good to be true.
Inside Camilla winced. Was she just gone too far? Once again she realized that she was here with the Prince of Wales on the private estate of the Royal Family. This thought scared her suddenly.
But the young man who smiled to her so lovingly was actually just Charles to her. She felt so familiar and at ease with him, she just had to speak in this way to him. Anything else would be unnatural. Yes, she liked him. Really, really liked him. And to be honest, something had anchored in her heart. Something strong and irremovableâŚ
Andrew came to her mind and immediately she kicked him out of his head again. No, she was too angry with him about his recent behaviour! He actually didn´t earn that she would talk to him ever again! And except from that, Andrew was just another thing in another world. Everything was completely different and it had always felt completely different. She was here now and it was wonderful!
Charles guided her around the house. They walked through something that seemed to be a garden before, as the plants and flowers were different from the wood around. It was totally overgrown but now she knew where this heavy flavour came from. There were flowers she had never seen before. Of course Charles knew all of them and told her the name and the characteristics of the plants. Admiring she looked up to him, he really had a clever brain.
A few steps further Camilla´s breath stopped for a second. They stood in front of the rests of a hall. It had a really huge window in the shape of the Tudor Style and the window reached almost down to the floor. There wasn´t a pane in it any longer, of course, and the ceiling of the hall was partly damaged. Single sunrays fell through several holes in the ceiling and gave an incredible, mysterious light. But the most beautiful here was that the garden had spread over the window sill into the hall. The whole ground in the room was covered with all sort of flowers from the garden, creeps of English ivy and edible wild herbs.
Charles stood close beside her and felt how speechless she was. Though he was smitten from the view as well, like every time he was here, he whispered: âYes, it´s so beautiful, isn´t it? So rural and still mysterious, and it shows us, that we all should live in harmony with nature. We are a part of it, we can´t win against the nature.â
Camilla turned her head to him, looked into his beaming face and now it came all down to her. Oh God! She had to face it! She was in love! She absolutely and obviously was in love with him! No, no, no! This couldn´t be, this simply hadn´t to be! She turned her head back, trying to catch a clear thought. She begun to blush, to sweat and tried to get back the control over her body. âNo, Camilla Shand, pull yourself together!â, it screamed inside her. She looked to him again, Charles still stared at her with his bumping heart and his bedazzled mind had recognized that something had happened to her.
His lovingly eyes sent a wave of warmth and pleasure through her body, she felt for him like she had never felt for someone before. It still was a wild and confusing mixtures of feelings, but different to what she felt for Andrew or the one or two boys before whom she almost had forgotten. And finally she dared to recognize that Charles was in love with her too. She actually knew it since they met on the party, her heart had told her, but she hadn´t allow to confess it to herself.
She smiled to him, but somehow it was a different smile. It was shy, confused, overwhelmed with emotions and a slightly insecurity gaze of her eyes. She stared at her feet now and chewed at her lower lip.
Charles heart understood, but his mind was way too busy to cope with his own feelings. He climbed over the low window sill and crossed the room. From a bush of wild roses he picked the most beautiful flower and smelled it with closed eyes. Camilla´s eyes had followed him and she almost died now. The way he hold the flower and his enraptured facial expression and his beaming and happy gaze to her now let her knees turn to jelly.
Suddenly his face changed. He grinned exaggerated, raised his eyebrows and tilt his head to one side. He reached the flower towards her, put it back to his nose and inhaled the smell with a very deep breathe. Then he donned an imaginary hat, playfully pulled up his trousers and grabbed an imaginary walking stick. Straddle-legged and with springy knees he started to walk back, looked around confused, swung the walking stick in his hand and behaved like Charlie Chaplin in his best characters. He stumbled over something imaginary, wiggled with his arms and turned back to look around.
Camilla couldn´t hold it. She heartily laughed and tried to find hold on the window frame. Charles had reached her now, hooked the imaginary walking stick on his arm, lifted his hat and presented her the rose with a deep bow and his still silly face. She was just happy. She had forgotten everything around and was focussed on this incredible young man, who was about to lay the world at her feet.
Charles couldn´t do anything else, he only adored her. With a voice gentler and more lovingly as ever before he asked her to continue their walk. Â
Side by side they walked along the main way. Camilla held her rose with both of her hands, at least watching this beautiful rose rescued her from staring to Charles all the time. Their bodies were so close that Camilla´s dress brushed against Charles dangling hand now and then. He thought he hadn´t felt anything better before and paid attention to get not too far away from her while walking. But as Camilla dared to let dangle her arm as well and the back of their hands, more or less accidently, touched he forgot about the dress.
A shiver run through his body, his hand still tickled and all what he could think about was to grab her hand and to hold it tightly. But he had to focus on their conversation with his heavy bumping heart and tried to not talk silly things.
But he wasn´t the only one, Camilla was more and more aware of his close body and the slightly touch of his hand electrified her as well. But on the other hand they discovered more and more things they had in common. They already knew that they shared a love for riding and horses, for gardening, for walking and this special sense of humour. And they learned that they both loved to be buried in a book for hours, that they had some similar edits of Shakespeare and old poems at home, they had a few favourite composers of music in common and even liked the opera âToscaâ to bits. And for sure there were many, many more things.
But almost the best, something they both couldn´t really believe, happened now. Charles recited a quote from âThe Goon Showâ as an answer of Camilla´s question and she promptly answered with another quote of this series. Almost shocked Charles stared at her and grinned. He gave it another try and Camilla promptly answered again. They both heartily laughed and pointed at them with their index fingers mutually. âNo! No! Not really now!â Camilla laughed with raised eyebrows. Charles almost rolled on the floor: âDon´t try to tell me you´re the biggest fan on earth. I don´t believe it. Because I am!â Camilla giggling answered with another quote and Charles couldn´t just hold it. He had covered his mouth with his hand and waved aside with the other hand. Camilla joined him laughing with her hands steadied on her knees to find hold. She just had too. This whole crazy thing was funny, Charles giggles were more than cute and infectious and somehow she was just happy. She simply had to laugh.
Finally they managed to cool down and continued their way. They didn´t speak, but now and then they looked at each other and twinkled or just grinned. Their souls had converged once more and an invisible bound had knotted their hearts.
They had walked around fifteen minutes since the old lodge house. Meanwhile they just walked through meadows and grasslands and reached a huge paddock. A lonely horse trotted around there and Camilla stared at Charles with begging eyes. Smiling he just bowed down and stretched his hand towards the paddock: âOf course, Ma´am! After you!â
Camilla excited leaned against the fence and stared over to the horse. Obviously the horse was delighted by a little variation and galloped over to them. Camilla whispered: âOh, it runs very similar to your mare. The same pace and almost the same muscularity. But it still has to be trained.â Once again Charles was speechless. With wide eyes he stuttered: âYes. It is the foal of my horse. And it´s here to be trained!â He unbelieving chuckled and shook his head. She was just wonderful. No, much more than wonderful!
The horse reached the fence and snorted. Charles stretched out his hand to greet the foal, but it gently pushed his hand away. It turned to Camilla and nudged her. Charles covered his face with his hands. What sort of girl he just had met! Camilla, of course, was already away with it. She caressed and patted the horse over and over and Charles watched her with a rapt smile.
Finally the cheeky foal was satisfied and galloped away. Camilla´s eyes followed it, she had clutched the fence with her right hand. But Charles didn´t recognize the foal any longer, his eyes wandered up and down on her. He almost imbibed her view: her waving curls in the breeze, her smile, her beautiful body, her fluttering dress, her lively, but warm and lovingly aura. He heard his heart bumping in his ears, he just had to do something now!
Hesitating and shy he placed his right hand on the fence as well. Still in a certain distant from Camilla´s hand. He was so nervous, he almost forgot to breathe. And he didn´t know that his heart was able to bump heavier than right now. But it was. As he slowly moved his hand nearer to Camilla he was anxious to die from a heart attack.
Out of the corner of her eyes Camilla recognized what Charles did. And she was nervous as well, her heart bumped so heavy. But he still was a few centimeters afar. They both just stared at their hands now, eagerly awaiting that something would happen now. Finally Charles cleared his throat and in the same moment placed his hand next to Camilla´s.
He almost fainted, his nerves were strained all the way. Camilla´s head run riot, if she would go on now her life would be completely unhinged. But she also knew it was just too late. It was already too late for her since the party night.
Slowly her pinky moved over and caressed his thumb. Charles couldn´t wait one second longer. He grabbed her hand, squeezed her gently and crossed fingers with her. His thumb gently caressed hers, while his heart, his stomach, actually all of his body jumped up and down. And he thought that her hand perfectly matched in his, as if they were made for each other.
The part of Camilla´s brain that still worked in this moment thought the same. His huge hand felt warm and protective, his caressing thumb sent shivers through her body and actually she never wanted to lose from him. She stepped closer to him and Charles took the rest of his courage. He put his free arm around her and pressed her tenderly against his chest.
Camilla closed her eyes for one second. It was an incredible feeling. She felt secured by him, but not overprotected. All the time she had already spent with him was full of joy, laughter and ease. And full of respect and a deep understanding for one another. They were different and so equal at the same time; how could she not fall in love with this cute and romantic young man.
She looked up to him into his excited and blushed face. His cloudy eyes were full of adoration for her and she couldn´t help. She just embraced him. His chest felt manlier than she had expected and she leaned her head against him. His heart bumped heavy into her ear, she smiled and placed a light kiss on his heart.
Charles stood there like a thin soldier again. His brain had problems to work properly. His left arm was still wrapped around Camilla, his right hand hung in the air in the same position she had left him before snuggling against his chest. He looked down to her, he was filled with happiness, but couldn´t believe that it was real. But her sparkling eyes, her loving smile and this gentle kiss on his chest felt so real. Yes, it seemed to be real. It seemed to be real that she obviously liked him and maybe fell in love with him.
He just embraced her too. A wave of pleasure and an unknown feeling rushed all through him. Caresses never were a huge topic in his family, at least since he wasn´t a toddler any longer. And so he didn´t know what he had missed until now. It felt as if this wonderful girl in his arms had opened a huge door in his heart and let out a wild bunch of feelings. It was just too much for his brain, it just stopped working. But his heart started a new life right now and almost the whole space was filled with her. Camilla.
Finally he had done it. He had spoken out her name. Quiet and breathy, but enough to let fly butterflies through Camilla´s stomach. His voice was deep and gentle and full of love. It gave her a goose flesh and she looked up to him. With her most lovingly smile she closed her eyes and kissed his lips carefully.
Charles wasn´t in this world any longer. A second sun seemed to be risen, flowers flourished inside him, his stomach lifted up, he had the feeling he could fly. He closed his eyes and felt the next kiss, more confident now and a second longer than before. He had never felt something softer, fresher and sweeter.
If he would be fully conscious, he would be shy and full of panic, but he was on cloud nine, only with his heart as a package.
Camilla tiptoed now, cupped his face with her hands and sucked his lower lip. From far, far away he heard her soft voice and felt her hands caressing his cheeks: âCharles! Charles!â He opened his eyes again and watched the face that already was the most precious to him. Somehow relieved she smiled and whispered: âEverything alright with you?â Now he realized that he hadn´t answer one single kiss and just stood there, almost frozen.
He tried to just let it out now: âYesâŚyesâŚIâŚI´mâŚâ He deeply sighed, pressed her more against him and breathed: âEverything is alright. It´s justâŚI´m in love with you. So very much. Since the first moment.â It was out and he felt like flying up and falling down at the same time.
But suddenly his insecurity came back. Was he just a bloody fool? How would she react now?
But she smiled more than ever. With her mouth as well with her eyes. Her right hand still hold his face, her left hand stroke a wisp of hair from his forehead. âOh Charles! You are wonderful.â She paused for a moment, sinking down in his eyes. And deeply breathed now: âAnd I´m in love with you, too.â Charles brightly smiled, everything inside him run riot, but somehow he knew what to do.
He bent down to her and kissed her in the way she did before. He gently sucked her lips, he never did before, he did it without thinking about it. But it felt so really good and he wanted to never end this again.
Camilla just wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back. They exchanged a few of such kisses now, but especially Charles had problems to stay on his feet now. He felt dizzy, his heart raced, Â he was just overwhelmed.
Camilly felt his and gently sat down with him in the grass, but Charles made sure to take her back in his arms immediately again. She leaned against his shoulder and enjoyed his caressing hands on her arm and back. She started to kiss him again on his ear and slowly continued her way to his mouth. Charles was more confident with kissing already, but now it hit him like a hammer again.
He felt her tip of the tongue tickling his lips and slowly entering his mouth. He stopped breathing, but closed his eyes. The memories of the few French kisses he already shared rushed through his mind, but he absolutelyl didn´t like it then. Frozen he waited the next things to come. But it felt so different. Camilla was very careful, she just tipped his tongue from time to time and slipped back to suck and kiss his lips.
Slowly Charles was at ease. And her tongue left a wonderful prickle on his`, this prickling wandered through his whole body, to places he felt never before in this way. Her loving caresses on his neck, his face and his back did the rest. He wanted to be even closer to her. No, he just needed to be closer to her!
He opened his mouth wider, immediately he felt her inside him and it was just wonderful. Not cold and mechanical as with his last âgirlfriendâ, it was full of warmth and tenderness. Finally Charles was able to join her tongue, he just did the same with her, and the longer he kissed her the more confident he was. He never wanted to stop this now. After a few minutes he had turned her on her back, but hold her strongly in his arms and took the lead. Now Camilla was the one who was away with it. He had learned quickly and he gave her the feeling of the most adored woman in this world. And actually she was for him.
A certain time later the porter in the gate house watched them coming back. He didnât care that they walked arm in arm and constantly stopped for a few kisses. He didn´t realise their adoring gazes and their enraptured smile for one another. He just grunted as Camilla friendly wished him a good bye.
Charles felt desperate now. He didn´t want her to go home now. He wanted to be with her forever, somehow he couldn´t bear to be away from her for just one second. But it started to dawn now, it really was about time.
Camilla embraced him once again and kissed him: âGood bye, Charles, good bye!â she breathed into his ear. Charles hold her tightly and whispered back: âAnd when will we see again?â He placed a light kiss on her shoulder: âI´m busy the rest of the week. And on Sunday I had some time, but it`s your father´s birthday, isn´t it?â Camilla couldnât believe it, he really had remembered! She placed an extra kiss on his lips: âYou are unbelievable, Charles. But then it has to be the next week, I think.â Charles shook his head determined: âNo, that´s way too long. What about Friday, but just after 7pm. I had time for about an hour!â Camilla caressed his cheek and smiled. Actually she wanted to meet with her friends then, but meanwhile Charles was way more important. She would cancel or just go later. âAlright. Friday shortly after 7pm.â Charles exhaled: âStill way too long, but alright. What do you think, where will we meet?â Out of the blue Camilla answered: âWell, maybe in my flat? We would be on our own, my flatmate will be out.â One second later she regretted it, there would be a lot to clean and to tidy up.
Charles exciting nodded. He was really eager to know how she lives, though he actually never before was in a common flat. Even better, he smiled. Suddenly he tapped his forehead and laughed: âWhere do you actually live? And, I will give you my phone number, if something comes up.â Camilla laughed as well, probably she had forgotten to tell him her address in her excitement.
She rumbled around in her car and brought out a tattered paper and a blunt pencil. Charles stripped off a piece and wrote down his number. âSo, this here is my private number. I will give you my office numberâŚ.and this here is the number of my private secretary, just for an emergency case.â Camilla grabbed the rest for her address and her phone number. Giggling she handed it over to him: âSorry, I just have forgotten the number of my private secretary!â With every other person Charles would be peeved now, but it was different with Camilla. It was just hilarious and funny. Charles burst out into laughter and kissed her once more while mumbling: âYou cheeky thing!â in her mouth.
Hours before he never hadn´t dare to behave like this, just out of his mind, especially his heart. But within just an afternoon Camilla had started to bring out the best sides of him. A confident, funny and energetic young man.
Finally Camilla was able to get into her car and cranked down the pane to kiss him once more. Charles bent down and shyly asked her: âWould you terrible mind if I´ll call you later? To wish you a good night?â Camilla touched his cheek and beamed: âThat would be wonderful. AndâŚyou can call me whenever you want.â Charles kissed her: âGood byeâŚCamillaâŚMillaâŚand please call me too, whenever you want!â She sent him a last smile and started the engine.
Her right arm waved out of the window and Charles waved back until she was completely out of his view. His wonderful, wonderful girlfriend.
