Celestial sprouted her wings, frowning. “You don’t need to lie to me.. I can help you, truly. If someone dangerous is after you, it’s my job to stop them.” She watched them. The boy kept looking back, as if someone was chasing them. Their heavy breathing proved that. She wished the girl wasn’t so stubborn… They needed her help.
"Holy hell wings!" Laine exclaimed, jumping back a little. I didn’t figure anyone else had them…Actually, saying that might not have been the best idea…
Zane was less fazed than Laine—he was surprised that the woman had wings, but was used enough to his to not particularly care at the moment. He spun around, hearing the sound of shoes hitting the pavement.
"What’s up, Zane?" Laine asked, turning to face behind them. She hissed a swear under her breath when she saw them—a group of adolescents, looking run-down and beat-up, seething with fury.
"Get ready, Zane!" Laine called, summoning her glowing white blades. Zane nodded, keeping a hand out and ready to attack. "Look, lady, even if you say it’s your job, we can handle it! Get out of here before you get hurt!"
Celestial smiled slightly when she was surprised by her wings. Then she saw the others running towards them. "I'm not leaving. I won't get hurt, I'm more afraid you two will." She replies, pulling out a bow. "I'm helping, whether you two like it or not." She adds.
