Astrid was overwhelmed. She had been asked by her “friends” to help with their homework, on top of her own. Right now, she was spread out amid the bookshelves of the Ravenclaw common room, near a window with multiple pieces of parchment spread out before her. Her own, plus about three so-called “friends” who she had agreed to “help.” Their definition of help was actually Astrid writing their homework and essays for them. She didn’t see it that way, because she was gullible and naive. She just didn’t want to disappoint them. The bonus was that it was Astronomy, the subject her Papa taught and her best subject. She loved the stars and the stories they told. 

One of Astrid’s dormmates came by to tell her that someone was trying to get in the common room and their best guess was that it was her sister. Astrid nodded. Freya was always visiting her, especially since for  some reason the Slytherins did not seem to like her much, so going to Freya’s common room was not so fun. So Astrid got up and opened the common room up, peeking out and smiling as she saw Freya. “Freya! Couldn’t get in?” The Ravenclaw common room consisted of a riddle. Astrid knew that the riddle wasn’t always easy and wasn’t meant to be. It was supposed to ensure that only Ravenclaws could get in and even then, sometimes it took quite a few Ravenclaws to solve the riddle.

Freya sighed in relief when Astrid poked her head out of the common room. She knew she wasn’t really supposed to ask students to let her in, but she had been considering it just so she could see her sister. Freya worried when she didn’t hear from Astrid for a while. That usually meant someone had “convinced” her to “help” out in some way, and Freya was the only one able to see that they were actually just taking advantage of her. 

“My hero. Thanks for saving me. Yeah, the riddle was hard this time. I can usually figure them out but I think the door doesn’t like me today,” Freya said, smiling warmly at her sister. It was one of those smiles that was really reserved for her family and nothing else. No one else got to see that side of her.

He could lose himself in those eyes of hers. Marjorie had the most beautiful eyes he had never come cross. Tu had a song about them somewhere in his bag about them. Well about her. Feelings were difficult at times and so music was how he could write them out. 

He didn’t even respond to her, just let her pull him to the classroom. Though he wasn’t sure about needing to be private. He looked at her and sat on a desk. “So what did you want to talk about, Mar?” He waited as he pulled his bag up next to him.

Marjorie bounced one hand in the other, a telltale sign she was nervous. One that Tu would easily recognize. One that she couldn’t stop, even though she was aware of it. Her hand continued to bounce as she tried to figure out how to say what she wanted to say. 

“I like you,” she finally blurted out. “More than a friend, I mean. I like you a lot. But...I also like someone else. Our other friend. I’m pretty sure I’m polyamorous.”

Tu knew he liked Marjorie, one of his closest friends. However he also like another one of his friends. It wasn’t something he had ever dealt with before. How could he like more than one person? It was strange and while he had admitted he liked the other friend in their group but he hadn’t come forward with the he liked Marjorie too. 

Now between classes he heard his name, turning to face the girl headed his way. He smiled at her, he couldn’t help but smile at her. How could he stop? He nodded at her. “Yeah, what’s up? I don’t have class for a little while.” He responded to her. Just shifted his bag on his shoulder. 

Marjorie found herself smiling back at Tu. He had one of the most beautiful smiles, one she had loved since they met. She didn’t know that he had already admitted to liking their other friend. If she had, it would have made this conversation easier.

“Mind if we go somewhere private?” Marjorie asked, pulling him towards an empty classroom without waiting for his response. She closed the door behind her and looked at him for a moment, unsure how to approach the subject.

Freya loved her family more than anything. More than makeup, more than jewelry, even more than being popular. She would give up everything to keep her sister safe. That might be why she ended up in Slytherin. Freya wasn’t really sure, but she definitely didn’t mind being there. It gave her an edge that the other houses wouldn’t.

She just wished that she was in the same house as her sister. She couldn’t protect Astrid from a different house. So Freya often found herself in the Ravenclaw common room, making sure that Astrid was okay. Today, however, the riddle to get in honestly had her stumped. Freya crossed her arms and stamped her foot in frustration. “Just open damnit!”

It had been a few years since Marjorie had become close friends with Tu. And about six months since she began realizing she cared about him as more than that. She knew him well, and was pretty sure he felt the same. That didn’t mean she knew for sure, it was just a guess. Still, Marjorie was nervous.

Because he wasn’t the only person she liked. No, she felt the exact same way about another one of their friends. Marjorie knew that must make her polyamorous, but she wasn’t sure how Tu would feel about that. How anyone would feel about that. Approaching him between classes, Marjorie tried to look normal, and not like her insides were tumbling around. “Tu! Hey, can we talk?”
