The last remains of Block 16, Las Vegas – late 1970s, 1984

Remnants of Las Vegas' original Block 16 red light district on the 200-block North 1st St still existed into the 80s, eventually making way for a parking lot.

1984. Allen Hotel. Built in ‘29 as the Pastime Club and originally had a two-story arcade-veranda facade which was removed in the 70s. Allen Hotel was demolished in the mid 80s. Photo by Jane Kowalewski.
