Happy Easter!
The girls want to explain about the Easter witch tradition in Sweden! Happy Easter! Glad Påsk!
(They go to Blåkulla to the devil’s party!)
Our English group for children 9-12 uses English as a medium for learning and developing social skills. The children do not know each other or go to the same school. They come together to learn English in a small group for one hour of extra English on Saturday mornings. The focus has to be on fun, that is why we dress up and have conversations, make videos and tell jokes. We follow the seasons and have themes like Easter, spring, St. Patrick’s Day etc. We find a topical approach keeps the children motivated and complements what they learn at school.
The place we meet is Medborgarskolan in Gothenburg (Molingsgatan), Sweden.
The boys have some Easter jokes for you!
What do you call an Easter bunny with fleas? Bugs Bunny!
Spread some Easter cheer. Easter is near!
Gothenburg on a Saturday in March (Aschebergsgatan, heading down the hill after my English class to Vasaplatsen).
With a week to go until Easter, you can guess what our theme was today! We read an Easter story and an Easter poem as well as trying out the Easter jokes. We also had some Easter interviews about Swedish Easter traditions!
I can’t resist spring flowers! Easter greetings from Gothenburg, Sweden!
Here are some jokes that I want to practise with the young learners. Any one got any good ‘knock, knock’ jokes for Easter?
Seascapes captured on a cold Sunday in March in Särö, south of Gothenburg, Sweden. Yes, that is snow, not surf!
Relaxing with a game of Memory. Working with clothing vocabulary.
Here is our first specialized area : Birds. Can you name all these birds?
Look at the questions on the next sheet.
Working hard on our Mastermind interviews! The kids interview each other on one of two subjects “birds” or “fish and sea creatures”
Here is our very own Mastermind, inspired by BBC 2!
