some pictures from my adventures today ~ i also travelled down to my parents' house in the south of england, which only took a few hours. whilst there, since my parents were busy packing as we head up to scotland tomorrow, i worked on my economics assignment a little, but i still have no idea of how much longer it'll take to finish ~ hope you're starting to get into the christmas spirit!

today was okay! i did some work for my company this morning, and essentially made myself a very long to do list for the next couple of days. also managed to fit in a nice walk and am now listening to a term’s worth of economics lectures on one evening ~ how was your day?

some photos of my wandering around london today ~ ive been thinking about the countryside a lot recently, but finding these gorgeous colours in the city reminds me that wherever you are, you can find places that make you smile and no matter how busy you are, try to find time to be out in the fresh air for a few hours sometime soon ~

Today i want to talk a little about doing art for art's own sake, or really any creative endeavour. my quote of the week this week was 'the soul usually knows what to do to heal itself. the challenge is to silence the mind' and i've really been trying to do that this week, and it's been incredible. i know there are people on instagram posting paintings far better than my little painting, but every time i look at this, it gives me so much joy and i can't really explain why. and i just wanted to say, that to me, that's all art is about, art isn't something that has to be perfect, it's something that speaks to you.. and whatever endeavour it is, whether it be musical, writing, hunting down the best cafes or anything creative, do and create things that speak to you and make you stay up until after midnight on a sunday night.. anyway happy monday and hope you have a week full of inspiration, and if you're struggling to find inspiration, do one really nice thing for yourself, as someone who used to study a million hours a day and thought nice things were a waste of time, trust me, they mean the world, so take yourself out for coffee, or whatever makes you smile:)

Today was nice, spent the morning working on a numerical methods problem set, and the afternoon in a cosy cafe, listening to my economics lecture whilst working on a pencil sketch 🌲

Today I had my final of five exams! definitely the worst one but at least theyre over:) this is my favourite study spot, it always feels so cosy and gets me to venture out into the cold… I also got to play piano for the first time in ages and it felt so good

Today was good - i went stargazing this evening, and despite the cold we managed to spot jupiter:) would've liked to have done more work but i did everything i had time for today.. these are some flower studies from a while ago.. i started a much more detailed study this evening - check out my insta story for that if you're curious @/thecoffeehouseartist

i’ve been trying to make the most of today, despite still feeling super tired! i came to a favourite cafe, which helped a bit with motivation:) this is a piece i did a little while ago for my insta (@/thecoffeehouseartist) check it out for more of my art related content and slightly more curated stuff than random life updates

I thought this place looked absolutely magical as I wandered past in the cold rainy night - reminds me of the sleepcast antique shop!! definitely worth a listen for drifting off to sleep and can be found on youtube:)

today i did a pencil sketch which i actually really liked, although i can also see a thousand places where I need to improve. I also went to uni, my exam was okay and I managed to hit my workout goal for the day despite feeling exhausted! how was your day?

Today I submitted a problem sheet for university, hit the gym, went for a walk - which was very much needed to clear my head. i have a mathematica exam tomorrow which im quite nervous about but trying to get some sleep before revising in the morning — happy sunday !

Hi! I really love to read people’s posts at the end of day on this community, just a couple of sentences about what they’ve been up to, so I’ve decided to start doing this a little bit myself:) today was a nice day, i posted an order, did some mathematica programming, some ecology modelling and very loosely started a sketch. I thought this Christmas tree UCL put up was so beautiful too!
