The purpose of everything I do is to shine light on and represent my culture properly. It is easy to fall to the side and watch people swarm in and dissect your legacy for the purpose of profit. When I was teenager I saw a documentary on the Young Lords (Pa'lante! Siempre Pa'lante!) which forever changed my life and directed my path for the following many years. When I started DJing it was with that purpose too, to make sure that our music and culture was defined by us. I have been a fan of Frank for many years now. Following his trajectory and feeling a sense of pride in how he carries our flag along the way. To be able to be a part of this release is very special to me. It brings together all the things I care for together in a fly and respectful way. Much love to Frank and everybody who has supported everything I have done thus far. We continue Pa'lante! The street is filled with litter, a Puerto Rican flag, and beer bottles. One dude on the cover has on a 3/4th length leather coat with his hands suspiciously tucked in. Just to the left of him is another dude with his fist raised on some Young Lords “Power to The People” gesture. This is the balance of the time the music was made. While the gangs made East Harlem and other neighborhoods danger zones, the Young Lords were awakening the people to the less than human conditions in which they lived.
