Laguna wasn’t sure how he’d managed to find himself all the way in Nibelheim when he’d been headed the complete opposite direction, but hey if his heart bought him here who was he to question it? Maybe it was fate!
Although he felt like he was tempting fate a bit too much exploring the abandoned mansion… But it was so cool! It would be awesome for a journal article! Or at the very least some awesome photos!
He stumbled across a hidden door to the basement. ‘Just like the movies!’ He thought excitedly. If course the excitement faded when he managed to tumble down the spiral staircase, landing in a heap at the bottom.
“Ow….” He muttered, rubbing his head. His eyes widened comically, “hey, this place is sooo cool!”
He began to explore in earnest, not even the dust making him sneeze could bring down his mood. But tripping over a coffin in one of the rooms revealing a living, breathing body did.
“V-vampire!” He screeched, flailing as he began to panic.

The past decade or so had gone quietly as the exTurk slumbered in the coffin, perfectly designed for his self induced comatose-like sleep. Dust had come to settle upon the wooden box in which he called his home, the deafening silence he had grown used to was now serene. Lashes kissed high cheek bones as pallid flesh became like porcelain, absent from the sun’s kisses.
It was few and far between anyone who dwelled in Nibelheim dared to enter the mansion. Typically it would be a few kids, trying and failing to prove their “bravery” as it were. Seldom did any make it past the front door, nor to the basement, at least not for very long. Lashes flickered as a loud series of crashes erupted from the far end of the basement corridor which roused the gunslinger from his sleep.
“Hm? What’s going on?”
The silence that followed put the exTurk on edge. Perhaps the hapless citizen of Nibelheim perished at whatever the crash was that rang through Vincent’s ears like nails on a chalk board. The void he had grown fond of, disrupted. Sighing softly, Vincent dismissed it as nothing more than one more corpse joining him in the darkness. Closing his eyes, Vincent tried to fall back to sleep when suddenly the lid of his coffin was violently removed.
Shrieking, ear splitting, caterwauling made Vincent’s eyes snap open in alarm. Looking up, he scarcely manage to see the visage of the man who dared to wake him from his slumber as he fell back out of sight. A grunt of annoyance erupted from Vincent as he went to move, his speed inhuman as he practically flew from his coffin, gun drawn and pointed it at the brunette’s head.
“Who are you? What buisiness do you have waking me from my nightmares?” Vincent barked, his voice raspy from years of disuse. Crimson eyes glowed like flame lit candles past long, unkempt, sable tresses that cascaded down his shoulders and over a fraction of his face. “Talk.”
