*Baby Driver* delivers on the charisma and humor of the trailers—undoubtedly. From the opening scene, the audience falls in love with Baby, the main character of the film, and his taste in music. Like many films today, *Baby Driver* infuses its soundtrack into the very fiber of the story but surpasses them all. The character requires the music to work and live in (relative) peace. Director Edgar Wright attempts to subvert audience expectations by focusing *Baby Driver* on the getaway, as opposed to the heist. Other than that, the film remains largely predictable but satisfying. Supporting characters, portrayed by Jon Hamm, Jaime Foxx, and Kevin Spacey, are intriguing but forgettable. I sound like I'm criticizing the film, but that does not detract from the solid writing and execution of *Baby Driver*. However, the film begins to fall apart towards the end: character motivations begin to stray (out of the norm) and events are sped up. News out this week suggests that Sony is interested in getting a sequel from Edgar Wright. Understanding the current climate in the movie industry, we'll most likely see a continuation of the story in 2018 or 2019. I'd recommend it, no doubt. If you've seen it... Thoughts?
