Teamotions
A couple weeks ago I noticed this “children’s” tea set online and instantly fell in love. Yesterday a package arrived in the mail, and I found out that my husband had actually ordered it for me for Valentine’s Day! I was so surprised and excited!!
Look at how gorgeous this set is! And it comes in a HAT BOX! Can it get any cuter?!? I am and will forever be young at heart, so these are perfect for me! Such a lovely set to add to my ever-growing collection of tea paraphernalia 😉
This morning I was drinking Achieve Clarity (Teamotions’ Black Vanilla Earl Grey tea), and the color combination of the lemon yellow cup (molded from a real lemon!) and sky blue cloudy teapot made me so happy 😄
I am so excited, I have a new job that is ALL ABOUT TEA AND WELL-BEING!! Two weeks ago I took the International Tea Masters Association’s Tea Sommelier course (which I will post more about later) and it inspired me to search for tea-related jobs. I quickly discovered Teamotions, an AMAZING heart-centered company that blends specialty teas for emotional and physical well-being. I am now officially a Teamotions Ambassador and I get to go to people’s houses (or offices, clubs, schools, etc.) and teach them about tea, Teamotions, and how to take care of their hearts! BEST JOB EVER!!! ☕️❤️☕️💛☕️💚☕️💙☕️💜☕️
A lovely red-and-white cup-and-saucer at the Two Bird Cafe in San Geronimo, CA. 😍
Such an adorable cottage teapot!! Quite indicative of the whimsy and charm to be found where it lives at the Tuck Box in Carmel, CA. ✨✨✨
The teapot and tea cup from one of my favorite afternoon teas ever at the Palace of Holyroodhouse. A must if you visit Edinburgh! Cheers!
Some lovely displays of tea (and a zen garden!) at one of my favorite places for tea in the greater DC area, House of Steep! Seriously, tea AND a foot massage?!? Does it get any better?? ☕️ 😌
This was my lovely glass teapot that my parents bought for me when they came to visit me in Santiago, the first glass teapot I ever owned, complete with a tea light stand made out of little glass hearts! Sadly, this little guy shattered, so I wasn’t able to take it with me back stateside. I miss ya buddy! 💜
A sign we saw in Santiago advertising “Early Gray” tea...I guess something got lost in translation! 😂
Double walled glass teacup @ Ching Ching Cha, Washington, DC
I absolutely LOVE these glass teacups from Ching Ching Cha in DC. I now have a total of six big ones and four little ones (that nest inside four of the big ones). So pretty!
¡Felices Fiestas Patrias a todos l@s chilen@s! In honor of the Chilean national holiday of September 18, here are two beautiful tea sets made by a Chilean artisan that I bought at a fonda in Maryland in 2012. Sadly, I no longer have them, but I will forever treasure their memory. Tikitikitiiii!
Stacks of Tulsi Tea boxes @ my apartment in Santiago
Here is a lovely picture of my better half with a stack of Tulsi Tea that I had sent/brought to me in Chile. I was drinking Tulsi Tea pretty exclusively for awhile, mostly the caffeine-free "Original" flavor. I drank so much of it (and served/gave away so much to friends and acquaintances) that I had to have a huge stash in my apartment. It also came in handy for my multiple birthday Tea Parties. Seriously. What can I say? I am an unapologetic tea addict enthusiast, and I love it!
One of my favorite places to get tea (and food) in DC is at Teaism, and one of my favorite things about their tea is their huge teacups and the lid they use to cover it. Teaism steeps your tea completely and removes the tea leaves before serving it to you in what I would guess is a 12 oz. mug, and provides you with a lid to cover the mug so that your tea stays relatively warm for all 12 ounces. Fantastic.
White teacups with pink (hibiscus?) flowers with green stems and leaves @ New Horizon Indian Restaurant, Bellas Artes, Santiago, Chile
These were the teacups and saucers they used at an Indian restaurant I used to frequent in Santiago. White with pretty flowers; pretty straightforward, but they made me so happy whenever I would order tea there. :)
Assam tea from Planta Maestra, Santiago, Chile
While I was in Santiago, it was recommended to me that I try a type of black tea called Assam (named for the Indian region it comes from, similar to other teas like Darjeeling), specifically for its grounding properties. I had never heard of Assam but I found it pretty easily at a great little vegan market called Planta Maestra. The first time I tried it, I was amazed. It was definitely a black tea but quite different from your typical English Breakfast variety. In addition to the obviously physical, it has a very warming effect, emotionally and spiritually. I generally steep it for about four minutes. (With my old tea bottle, I knew it was fully steeped and ready to be deliciously sipped when I could feel the just-hot-enough temperature from the outside of the bottle with my hand.) I haven't been drinking as much black tea in the last few months (though that has been changing lately) but I plan to add more Assam back into my rou-tea-n! (Sorry, I couldn't resist!)
In addition to taking photos of pretty teapots at the Ecoferia, I made a couple of purchases. The last two photos are of a tea set gifted to me by my lovely spouse!
