Love this scene because it beautifully captures the essence of both characters and encapsulates their entire relationship.

Grandiose Baroque Library in Prague Is a Stunning Kingdom for Books | via
Prague’s Klementinum library was opened in 1722 and has easily become one of the most beautiful libraries in the world. Aside from housing over 20,000 novels for your reading pleasure, this location showcases absolutely stunning Baroque architecture. As you’re perusing various timeworn bookshelves, you can take a moment to look up and see Jan Hiebl’s heavenly, Renaissance-style ceiling paintings. Amongst his work, there are symbolic designs that represent the importance of education, along with fantastic portraits of Jesuit saints.
Hiebl’s paintings actually pay homage to the fact that the library was originally a Jesuit university. Many of the school’s rare, 17th-century books are still amongst its collection today. That would explain why Emperor Joseph II’s portrait is displayed at the head of the hall, since he was the one who arranged for abolished monastic libraries to send their books to Klementinum. Now, Google has several of these volumes in their possession because they’re scanning them for Google Books.
In 1777, Maria Theresa declared Klementinum to be a public and university library. This allowed the Prague community to witness this local treasure in person, to marvel at the globes that line the center of the library, and to study Jan Klein’s intricate astronomical clocks.

It’s organized by year and within that I tried to keep it as chronological as I could. The stuff around Comic Con/July 2014 got a little messy but other than that I think it’s pretty decent. tonight is gonna be sad. (sniff, sniff) so let’s all be sad together! as promised by many anons…my pencils…from start to finish. here’s my process: materials - digi pre- sketching, strathmore drawing paper, 2b, 4b pencils, my fingers!
2ish hrs…with a HUGE break in the middle to take kids to the movies, do laundry, ahhh…sat mom stuff. “-D
1. digi pre studies to get a good sketch going and then redrawing the second sketch (o i love my portable lil kindle dude!) to paper.
2. building shadows and light - going by shapes, values
3. further building light and shadow. BLENDING with my fingers, ptowel stubs, to really merge shapes together. still leaving the DETAILS a bit longer (o ms dresbach and her CRAZY INVOLVED GORGEOUS EMBROIDERY!)
4. the final…now i gotta go wash the sides of my hands and get my wine, tissues and watch 207. “-(

Heron to Heroine
This week Caitriona Balfe put the I in heroine as Claire Randall Fraser on Outlander. Blood and tears poured from her in the universal language that all women understand: babies are lost, yet we must live on.
Thank you, Diana Ganaldon and Starz, for giving our pain a real voice in Claire. That was a moment long overdue on television, and it was one of many moments that make Claire my heroine.
The Red Dress
Claire is everywoman. Her personality and nature are so richly developed by Diana Gabaldon, distilled by Ron Moore and his creative team, and portrayed by Caitriona Balfe that all who “know” Claire find qualities or experiences to which we aspire or feel connected.
