I’m having a lot of reworking issues and I might start this blog from scratch at this point and make this blog an archive but since I’ve been inactive for so long I want to make sure others follow, it’s either that or move Merrill to my multimuse blog
If I move Merrill to my multimuse my Hero of Ferelden and Avexis will likely be moved as well
regardless to where Merrill goes Keeva and Avexis will eventually be added to my multi muse @amyriadofmuses
However would you guys rather see Merrill rebooted to a new blog or added to the multi muse

Merrill came into Kaaras's room with a tray filled with some pastries as well as tea. His scarf stolen and worn around her neck as she held a soft smile. "You need a break so I though some food would be good."
Of course the Inquisitor was working hard at his desk, and he had been for the last few hours. When he heard the door open to his chambers, he was half expecting another soldier, scout or adviser to be there, asking him for something else.
Instead, Kaaras was pleasantly surprised to see Merrill with a tray of sweets and tea as she walked her way over. It instantly put a smile on his face, and he put his quill back down. His eyes lingered for a moment where his scarf sit around her neck, and he couldn’t deny that little sense of satisfaction to seeing her wear it.
“That’s sweet of you,” he smiled, leaning back in his seat and venting a soft sigh. “Thank you, Merrill. I feel like I’ve been sitting here all day.” And maybe he had. Maker’s breath, what was the time?
kaaras-adaar
He smiled down at her, still rubbing her back gently. No one was perfect, and Maker knew that he was far from it. Merrill may be a little agitated and couldn’t concentrate at times, sometimes a bit fussy here and there, but that was hardly a problem they’d run into with each other. Kaaras had his own quirks. He was a clean freak, he needed his routine, and his moods could be intense at times.
Together, they could work through them, though. And he wasn’t about to just give up on her when she needed him.
Leaning down, he gave her a small kiss on the forehead and pulled the platter of food back over for them to share.
“Come on, eat up, and then we’ll go lay in bed for a while. What do you say to that?” he smiled, brushing her hair from her face and tucking it behind her ear.
Merrill relaxed further into his touch, not even sure why she had cried in the first place. Maybe it was the fact for the first time in a long time she felt truly accepted for who she was, in her entirety. While Kaaras might not understand why or how everything was for her he wanted to be with and help her through it and that meant the world to her.
“That sounds like a wonderful idea.” She spoke softly a moment the smile growing on her lips.

“Eve’s been baking again~” Elia held up the basket in her hand, covered with a folded picnic blanket. “Got some juice and a few other things, too. Wanna eat here at yours or go have a picnic someplace nice?”

Merrill’s face brightened hearing those words green eyes lit up and lips up turned in a brilliant smile.
“You are such a sweet talker you know that.”
“I have to be, otherwise how would I get cute girls like you?” Elia laughed, kissing Merrill’s cheek. “But seriously, I am proud of you.”
Merrill smiled a bit her cheeks flushing slightly at the praise.
“Thank you....”
“They’ll come when they want,” Isabela said with a wave of her hand. She frowned, looking at Merrill carefully. “Are you all right, kitten?”
Fenris glanced back at Merrill, taking her in for a second time. Now that his attention was drawn to her, it was obvious that she was distressed. Isabela looked concerned as well. Hardly surprising, since the two got along so well.
“Just too many people....” Merrill didn’t want to be a bother. She had always felt like this in large groups, over crowded like her lungs were filling with water as she struggled to breathe. The clan thought she stayed away because she was cold, or she thought herself better than them, but in truth it taxed her body being around so many others whom she didn’t know well. She only hopped she wouldn’t break down in front of everyone.
“Alright… how long should I wait to check in on you?” Merrill asked making sure that he had everything he needed to be comfortable.

Anierous thought for a moment, “In a couple of hours. If I’m not asleep by then.”
Merrill nodded a moment.
“Alright I’ll check on you then.”

Fenris huffed as he made his way through Lowtown, heading towards the Hanged Man. Hawke was gathering his companions and, no doubt, had another fun adventure in store of them. That was, it was almost certain to end with spider guts and near death experiences, but they would all go if asked. That was just Hawke’s magnetic personality.
With nothing else to do, Fenris was making his way there sooner than needed. When he opened the doors, though, he saw through the haze of smoke that always seemed to drift inside, Merrill and Isabela already sitting at a table. He walked over and sat down without a word, nodding at the two.
Merrill wasn’t surprised when Fenris showed up. Hawke had called them there anyway so it was either him or some of the others in their little group. Merrill however was different than usual in the crowded room chewing on the skin where her nails met the rest of her fingers a moment.
She didn’t like being around this many people. It made her stomach drop in a ways she hated. Her eyes shifted back to Fenris a moment trying to focus on just their small group until Hawke showed up.
It took a moment for Fenris to understand why the mood at the table was off. Isabela was chatting about something or other involving theft and an unsurprising amount of wit, not to mention a few questionable hiding places. She was amusing and Fenris tried to pay attention, but Merrill kept looking at him and it distracted him.
He still didn’t really like her. She was a blood mage and she was reckless with her power, not respecting it as much as Fenris thought she needed to. But it was also obvious that she wasn’t comfortable, not with the way she kept shifting and moving back and forth.
“Where is Hawke?” Fenris asked, also a little unnerved with the amount of people. It was the afternoon so it was hardly like the Hanged Man was packed, but he still didn’t like being around so many strangers.
“I’m not sure.... they didn’t give us an exact moment they’d be here...” Her voice came out weaker than she thought it would as her eyes shifted to the table as if there was something interesting in the wood grain that wasn’t being seen by anyone else.
Too many strangers made it feel like she was being pushed into a smaller space almost unable to breathe. Why couldn’t they have met in Varrics room so she could at least feel somewhat safe.
“Do you want some company for a while or no?” She asked after a moment glad to stay with him if he’d like. She knew how hard it could be when sick and unable to do anything much. She didn’t get sick often but when she did it was terrible.

“Afraid I’ll be a poor company with my head swimming. I’ll try to get some sleep and then heal myself… You’re welcome to check on me later.”
“Alright... how long should I wait to check in on you?” Merrill asked making sure that he had everything he needed to be comfortable.

The small touch was enough to make the tears she wanted to hold back so badly spring forth. They ran down her cheeks as she listened to him before being pulled up against him. His hand soothing against her back.
It was always evident, the size difference between the two, but when he held her like this she felt so small compared to him. His forehead against hers as she listened glad to have him here with her. She knew she’d need to hear those words again in the future and she knew Kaaras would be there to tell them to her. With him so close it was easy to place the small kiss against his lips.
She found she couldn’t speak, her throat seemed unwilling after this burst of emotion, but she wanted him to know how much it meant to her that he accepted, all of her. Her body leaned further into his as she tried to regain control of her body.
He didn’t like to see or even hear her cry, but he wasn’t ashamed that she was. He didn’t like to see her hurting was all. But the tears would make her feel better afterwards as well. Holding back tears was unhealthy, and Kaaras so very well knew that feeling.
Keeping her there in his arms, he did nothing but soothe her with his hands still running down her back. He didn’t need words, he didn’t need her to talk at all, he just wanted to let her know that he was there for her.
“You know I care for you so much, Merrill. If you ever need to talk about anything like this, then don’t be afraid to tell me.”
Merrill let the warmth of him anchor her to this moment, that it was real and he’d be here for her. Eventually the tears settled as she felt his hand running up and down her back. And here they were supposed to be having dinner.
“I know thank you....” It was a whisper as she continued to relax against him. It felt silly now that she had practically felt the need to hide this from him, that she didn’t want him to look at her different, if anything it actually seemed to cement what he already knew about her.

Merrill nodded a moment as she went about brewing the tea as she had talked about before coming back with the cup of tea for him a moment.
“Anything else I can get you? I can ask for some soup to be brought up”
|| @thedalishbloodmage ||
After she came back, he gladly accepted the hot cup of freshly brewed tea, blowing on it to cool it slightly.
“I’ll be fine, for now. Thank you, Merrill. I just need to rest a little before I can cleanse myself. I can’t afford to spend a week in bed.”
“Do you want some company for a while or no?” She asked after a moment glad to stay with him if he’d like. She knew how hard it could be when sick and unable to do anything much. She didn’t get sick often but when she did it was terrible.
