This is an official anthology blog dedicated to my webcomic The Dance of Death

The Dance of Death is a supernatural scandinavian noir horror comic, that follows a private paranormal detective called Eerie Somby, an undead who was brought back from death when a raven ate their soul, tranforming them into an angel of death. Eerie assumed the role of a psychopomp while they set themself to solve crimes and mysteries, including their own. As a detective, they help the dead find closure. But Eerie also runs into various dangerous humans and entities alike.

On this blog you will find page & comic updates but also: art, WIPs, original writings, ramblings, worldbuilding, character lore, in character Q&As, inspiration/aesthetics, etc. In short, This blog is my archive for my labor of love thats this project, creative workshop, sandbox and hub dedicated to Eerie Somby and the world around them in TDOD. It is a constant WIP and things can and will be a subject to change until I can afford more writers and editors!

Due to nature of this project it is strictly 18+ and tackles topics such as: death, mental health, suicide, depression, ED, abuse, murder, violence, oppression, gore, body horror, cosmic horror and more. Viewer's discretion is advised

FELLAS.... I might have to restart my webcomic, with how Eerie has developed since The Dance of Death's debut, and it's unplanned hiatus and now that im looking back at it after so many years... yeaaahhh. I might have no other choice.

Good news is, I don't have to complet3ly start from scratch, since the comic didn't get far enough. I still want to open the setting with Frogner Park and Oslo, to thrust people right into the spooky action and all.

But, it also gives me more time to work on pages and the buffer, before the official re-debut. Hopefully yall won't hate me for this decision. The comic pages and links won't go away either, and will remain until the new material is ready. 'll just add that the comic is currently under a heavy rehaul and construction.

Hey there, friends.

After I recieved a backlash, I decided to rework on the dance of death, and Eerie, their story, lore, etc. And this will likely affect the comic depending what's gonna be changed. I'm still not sure. But I'll keep you notified.

Quick reference on Eerie's eyes and what the fuck is going on with them.

Because Eerie is able to see the spirit world with naked eyes and is exposed to it on a daily basis, their eyes will very often be teal. They also turn this color when Eerie uses abilities. Eventhough they're blind to the physical world in one eye, thats not the case for the spirit world so they can still see ghosts and other noncorporeal entities bc such entities exist outside any and all physical forms.

Eerie's natural eyes are actually black and has no fancy color when light hits them. Eerie reverts back to natural eyes when they're tired, dissociating, depressed, has no strenght, dead, etc etc.

I actually found a better term and it's cupiosexual. It's an ace spectrum when someone experiences no sexual attraction, but still desires and/or seeks out sex.

Whenever I explain the synopsis of my comic to IRL people, it always sounds so ridiculous and dumb.

Maybe It's my sign to rethink things......

and also... how would you/do you describe my comic to other ppl?

When a character is assured enough in their own power that they are completely relaxed in dangerous situations??? When that same character becomes tense and uncomfortable in the mundane because they don't have a framework for peace?????? When they help navigate violence for another character and in return that character helps them navigate softness??????????? That's all, your honour

starts punching and tearing at everything in a blind rage. i want AROMANTIC characters i want characters with not an OUNCE of romance about them i don't JUST want aroace characters i want AROMANTIC characters that AREN'T ASEXUAL i want people to headcanon characters as AROMANTIC not just aroace i want fandom to treat AROMANTICISM as AROMANTICISM, and not a SUBCATEGORY OF ASEXUALITY. Eerie goes noodling, but for salmon instead of catfish ( that's the joke, I know it doesn't work that way )

Eerie is a rural kid at heart who grew up in a fishing village up in deep north of coastal Northern Norway. They live in a city now, but they very much fish and hunt recreationally for their own food and resources in their spare time.

Eerie goes by they/them. Don't claim, use, rp, repost, etc.
