I gave him a bit of a glare to his words. He was right, I didn’t benefit anything from helping and it was obvious that I was helping him. He may seem independent and all, but he was still Prince Roxas, son of King….whoever they were now. He most likely had help getting dressed and bathing even now. Me, I’ve been dressing and bathing myself since I was three. The fact that Xemnas already gave little to no care to his status other than his wealth, he would certainly disapprove of me helping him at all. “You know, I don’t have to go out of my way to help you, Roxas. I don’t have to do anything for you actually.” Why was I doing all this for him? I knew I thought he was cute, but someone like me could never tell someone like him that. Instead, this came out “Without someone helping you, you couldn’t survive among a band of pirates.” The statement was cold and seeming unsympathetic to how I have been to him. I then stood up and commented even seeing that clearly he was displeased with the taste of the rum “Keep the bottle. You’ll get use to it in time.” I left his cell door unlocked and open as I shoved my hands into my pockets and walked back up to the main deck. The crisp air took away the foul infection smell that still hung in my nose almost instantly. I closed my eyes and took a deep breathe before looking into the blanket of stars above my head. I leaned over the ship and even saw the stars dimly reflecting in the water. It was beautiful. This is why I stayed a pirate, to get views like this. Though, it didn’t mean that Roxas’s words weren’t echoing in my head. I sighed as I thought more. I just wish he’d understand that I didn’t want to hurt him again….and that I never wanted to hurt him in the first place.
My mouth open and shut when he spoke. It wasn’t hard to see that I had upset him somehow by my words and that left me flabbergasted. I hurt him? For what? Making that statement? The words he spoke where harsh but they were of the truth, as much as I hated it. I would be here still sitting in a soiled and ripped dress, a wounded arm and ripe for any of the crew members to pick. It was only because of this man that I felt I made it even this long, and honestly I hadn’t mean the statement wrongly. I simply… didn’t understand.
I watched him rise, telling me to keep the bottle. I looked to it and made another soured expression before sighing and grasping it and taking another sip. I was beginning to feel the effects slowly, and I watched as he left the door unlocked. Was this man a biggot? He was going to get killed caring for me like this. He didn’t deserve that at least. Raising to my legs slowly and wobbling a bit, I finally found my footing and followed after him very slowly and quietly. When he went to the deck, I looked around, pasuing before going over as quietly as I could.
“S…sorry…” I murmured out, thought I was a bit unsure why. I suppose it bothered me making him upset after all his help. “Know I’m not suppose to follow. Just… sorry.”
I had a faint smile on my face as I stared up into the sky, seeing the constellations and the very same ones I have pointed out to Roxas when I thought he was his twin. I noticed one in particular that was right above my head and just by that, I knew we were south.
A voice startled me and I turned around to see Roxas walking up towards me. To his apology, I wanted to stay cold…and try to be uncaring, but I couldn’t. I tapped my hands on the side of the ship before admitting “Me helping you and going out of my way is my way of saying sorry since just saying the words wouldn’t suffice when you gain someone’s trust enough to be able to snag a kiss from them and then have your ship mates kidnap you.” I looked directly into his eyes as I remarked “And if you wanted a less cold version of why I’m helping you, that was it because I really am sorry.”
When he looked to me, I was sure he was going to be angry with me. I flinched away and tried to hide, something I suddenly just felt with the drinks in my body. I was turned back into my shy and child like self that came back when suddenly this man was being upset with me. I wanted to show that I was powerful, but it seems that my drunk self had a better time accepting the truth.
His words came out different than I expected. I blinked when he apologised, looking up to him for a moment. The pirate was... saying sorry for what he had done. For tricking me. It surprised me, and I couldn't help to take a moment to register this before nodding softly. "I... well... for everything you have done... i guess your apology is accepted."
