Meet Kassandra ‘Kass’ Milkovich, a guest who recently turned twenty-one years old and bears a resemblance to Ashley Rickards.
“I’m a wanderess, I’m a one-night stand; don’t belong to no city, don’t belong to no man. I’m the violence in the pouring rain – I’m a hurricane.” ♫♪

Growing up as an only child in an upper-middle class family in Minnesota, Dave and Cathy Milkovich always made sure Kass never had a reason to want for anything. From swimming lessons and dance classes to Disney World vacations, she had it all. The moment she was brought into the world, both of her parents loved and adored her equally. She was their little girl, and likely the only child they were ever going to have. They doted on her every moment of every day, calling nearly every shift in her expression a ‘Kodak moment’ just so they had an excuse to get the camera out. From an early age Kass was taught about God and the Christian religion her parents so obediently followed. She went to church every Sunday with them, celebrated traditions when she was supposed to, and had every prayer memorized by the time she was six years old. However, none of it really made sense to her. There were too many loop holes she’d found, and as she flourished into a young woman she only found more. Although both of her parents preached virtues, the brunt of it came from her mother. It felt like a lecture that never ended, day in and day out. She was told why they had to worship the Lord, and why it was important to study the bible every day. Despite Kass’ outspoken objections, Cathy Milkovich wouldn’t have it. No daughter of hers was going to go against their beliefs. As a result of her tenacious behaviour, Kass felt more irritated than anything else in her mothers presence.
It hadn’t been intentional at first, but Kass turned to Dave for her every need and pushed Cathy away with every attempt she made to get closer to her. She loved her, of course she did, she’d given birth to her after all, but passed that point the young Milkovich girl had become detached from the woman she called mother. The years that passed only saw what was left of their relationship crumble into dust. Cathy and Kass constantly bickered when the other was home, and it wasn’t long before screaming matches in the house became the new normal. It could have been predicted then that they were never going to see eye to eye. However, Cathy clung to the belief that she and Kass could reconcile their differences and move on from the rough patch they’d been caught in for over five years.
When she turned fourteen, her parents saw a change in her that convinced them that somewhere along the line they had mistakenly done something that had contributed to their daughter becoming a troubled girl. To her parents horror, she refused to attend church at all any more, she cut classes, and her room was now off limits to them. Everything about her life had become so private that even Dave felt like he hardly knew who his daughter was any more. In spite of both parents trying to talk to her and discipline her, Kass continued to do whatever she wanted with a nonchalant attitude. She began sneaking out of the house to go out and party with older guys and full grown men she’d met on some of her nightly adventures. At any time she’d disappear anywhere from two days to a week at a time without telling anyone where she’d gone. When she would finally show up at home again, she refused to give anyone an explanation. Most of the time if she was around, she had to be high on one thing or another just to tolerate her family. Living the lifestyle she wanted didn’t come without consequences, though. The young teen had found herself in dangerous situations a handful of times.
There was one in particular that left a deep scar. At fifteen, Kass had gotten herself involved in what seemed like a happy, healthy relationship with a twenty-seven year old named Vince. She was smitten – naive enough to be convinced that they were in love. When he asked her to move into his apartment, she thought things were really getting serious between the two, and, wanting to get away from her parents and out of their house, she immediately started calling the apartment home. Vince showered her with expensive gifts; shoes, dresses, jewellery, lingerie, you name it. He made her feel like she was his first priority. Kass saw a happy future with him. He took care of her. However, what started out like a match made in heaven quickly went south one day out the blue. After Vince had returned home with his friend Tyler, a man who she knew very well through her boy friend, Kass was told about yet another surprise gift he’d gotten for her courtesy of his friend. He made sure she’d fallen in love with it first before he decided to suddenly drop the bomb. He explained that he didn’t have enough money to pay Tyler for it, but in only a matter of seconds it became clear that the two men had already worked out another method of payment… At first, Kass was forced to sleep with Tyler. With her boyfriend reassuring her that it was okay, that it was just Tyler, she had no reason not to trust him. After it was over, Kass felt different. Unable to explain nor understand it, she hid away until Tyler had left the apartment. Although, it didn’t stop after Tyler. Vince forced her on guy after guy, stranger after stranger, night after night in order to collect quick cash. It worked, and she had no escape as long as he was there. By the time her parents had reported her missing to the police, Kass had formed some sort of Stockholm syndrome. When police officers arrived to remove her from the apartment, she fought back as hard as she could before she was carried outside and Vince was arrested for kidnapping and prostitution of a minor.
Even after a long road of working toward recovery, she never quite bounced back after that. She felt like a piece of her had been torn out. She pushed away any hope she’d had that love was real, that it could exist in its purest form. As far as she was concerned, the concept of love was just a farse, a way for people to get what they wanted from someone else. She resolved to never play that game again. At eighteen, Kass had become very well known for her promiscuity of her own volition. Girls hated her and guys continued to chase after her knowing what they could get. She was easy, careless, and didn’t give a shit about what anyone else had to say about her. As long as she still had air in her lungs, she was going to live however she damn well pleased. Everyone else was just missing out.
At only twenty years old, Kass Milkovich had found herself in every possible role you could imagine in a relationship. She’d been the cheater, the third-party, and was always shameless about what she did. There was a thrill she got from sleeping around without any strings attached that she simply didn’t get from being in a confined relationship. Perhaps it was the freedom of not having to even consider feelings with a hookup that she couldn’t get by with otherwise. Relationships involved feelings and opening up; Kass just wanted to fuck. After hearing about their daughters sexual conquests, Cathy and Dave Milkovich had talked to their priest about getting her the help they believed she needed. Without going too far and forcing her into a convent, they agreed to give Kass an ultimatum: she either willingly allowed herself to be admitted into an asylum for much needed counselling, or they were going to kick her out of the house. With no wiggle room, she agreed and was excused from her semester at university in order to complete said treatment.
Upon her arrival at the asylum, Kass met a young teenager, Zachariah Temple, whom she quickly latched herself to, due to believing that he could protect her from the asylums dirty secrets. It was odd for her to spend so much time with someone so young, let alone actually give him a slice of her attention, as she was never one to like kids. Strangely enough Kass became protective over him after learning about his roots. Zach was the sole person she’d ever felt like she could fully trust. He made her see that there was more to life than the pain she’d been through. Somehow he’d managed to fill in the piece of her that had been taken by Vince. After an incident with his parents at the asylum, it was clear to her when she pitched the idea of adopting him into her family as her brother that they had formed an unbreakable bond. Once the adoption was official, things finally started to look up for the siblings. After what felt like another lifetime, Kass completed her rehabilitation workshops and counselling sessions with great effort on her part.
Now re-enrolled as a part time student once again, Kass has left her scholarly duties at the institutions door in order to pay a visit out to Blackwood Pines Lodge on Blackwood Mountain – the last known place Zach had gone to before he suddenly vanished. Oblivious to the mountains secrets, she has simply set her focus on searching for her brother and finding out whatever information she can get out of the staff and other guests. It doesn’t hurt that it gets her out of her parents house again either. Aside from locating Zach, Kass generally hopes to somehow find a way to enjoy her stay at the lodge – if only it weren’t those pesky footsteps keeping her up all night like clockwork…
I feel like someone’s watching us…
Zachariah Milkovich Despite that they aren’t blood related, Zach is something of a twin to Kass, in that she feels so strongly bonded to him. However, like any true pair of siblings, the two of them have had their fair share of problems with each other, usually believed to be at the fault of the other person. All Kass really wants is to know that she’s Zach’s number one, like he is hers, but she struggles to get past with their differing opinions on their mother.
Jay Brennan Simply put, Jay was a mere stranger Kass happened to brush shoulders with in the lodge. He seemed slightly off when they first met and that alone caused the image of him to linger in her mind for a few days afterwards, as well as a few questions. She hopes to bump into him again and find out what he’s really all about.
