i forgot how much i love drawing scars
i can have brainworms as a treat but first some studies
people who don’t watch horror movies are SO confident that they know everything there is to know about the genre. like it’s okay to not know things. it’s okay if you don’t like friday the 13th or whatever. i promise you don’t need to make an ass out of yourself on the internet about it
horror is an incredibly diverse genre, because there is potential horror in everything. it’s in nature, it’s in architecture and technology, it’s in human relationships, it’s in folklore, the past, the future, the mundane. there are horror movies from all over the world. it is straight up anti-intellectual to pretend that the handful of B slashers you’ve vaguely heard about comprise the totality of what horror has to offer. If you’re just not interested in horror, or if you dislike certain subgenres of horror, then that’s fine, you’re not obligated to like anything at all. but smugly announcing that you don’t like horror because you dislike a handful of VERY specific non-universal tropes is just as stupid as saying that you hate comedy because you don’t like adam sandler movies.
this is what I mean by anti-intellectualism btw
I ever wondered, do you have anywhere you post all your art, like a gallery? I love all your sketches. There's some FS art of yours I loved and I can't find them anymore. But I was just curious. I also understand if not. I'd never invade any privacy ^^ But wanted to let you know you've always been a favorite artist.
i don't think i ever had a proper art archive, but i started working on it, follow @demosarchive if you'd like to see an account for my art only.
and thank you, im very honored to be someone's favorite artist. 😁
i deleted my twitter because that site wasn't worth staying in anymore and i didn't think to save my art, so a good chunk of my work is probably gone, but i am digging through my old stuff and gradually posting what i find over there.
and i can make proper use of tags now that i know how they work and so my final space stuff is easier to find in the future. thank you so so much, you're not invading at all.
Sorry I'm thinking Simon's tendency to apologize to inanimate objects rn
Grace gets frustrated with a tool or something and tosses it to the side as he does. And Simon picks it up and mutters an apology on Grace's behalf under his breath. Cut to Grace absolutely breaking down to Rocky later, taking off his glasses as tears stream down his face bc, "he apologized to the tool, Rock. I threw it and he felt the need to apologize. On my behalf." Him feeling a bit like an asshole for throwing a fit
Ok that's it that's the post hit send
Simon, after he photographs the fish in the tunnel, says: just pretend like I'm not even here. If you see someone out there, looking for Simon... tell them I'm still alive.
Then later, when talking to the Speaker, he says: I never told you my name.
And she says: yes, you did.
More Iron Lung details
the thing about media literacy is that understanding why the author chose to specify that the curtains are blue is the same skill set as understanding that the way the author characterizes all black characters as angry or all chinese characters as meek and silent is racist. it is the same skill set as being able to identify when a news source is biased or when someone is feeding you propaganda. the ability to ask "why did this person choose to present this premise in this specific way?" is a critical skill in a world full of misinformation. why are the curtains blue? maybe it's a characterization detail. maybe it's extraneous worldbuilding. why is this character written as being right all the time? maybe you're intended to disagree with them. maybe it doesn't matter. maybe you should still ask why.

Simon after blasting 4 people with mega cancer:
average gay guy problems: i have been hooking up with my hockey rival, but now i am developing feelings for him and nobody can know! >_< also nobody serves ginger ale
average lesbian problems: my wife died when an alien virus turned all of humanity into a hivemind and then said hivemind sent a woman who looks like a female version of my romantasy hero to charm me into complacency, which i resisted at first but then i got lonely and now i think i am falling for her >_< also john cena said the hivemind is eating people
sorry for throwing a brick at you but i the more i think about Helen the more i miss her 😭😭 i mean she was the person who wanted to make Carol happy because it was her choice, not her program
