You know my father isn't dead, but it don't feel like he's still here
It's strange now that he's grey and getting older by the day
And my eyes tell me that he's harmless despite what my heart has to say

A smattering of the wild splash pages of Jack Kirby and co. on Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen
Just finished reading this for the first time and nothing staggers me more than how much Kirby was able to push his visuals during his Fourth World titles for DC. Legendary.
I am, with only mild reservation, pretty hyped up about The Academy Is... being back, with a song laser-targeted at my old ass.
Don't you worry about money
Don't worry about being alone
Don't worry about what's coming
Some things are not worth knowing
Don't worry about stormy weather
Don't fret about the calm
You've seen it all a million times before
And done just fine so far
Nothing has changed
I'm still your island when you're washed away
Give a little light, give a little love
Maybe there's enough for everyone
Give a little hope, and a little trust
Maybe there's enough for everyone
And now I see it clear
With every passing of each year
I deserve to be here
And every time I fall
I crawl back like an animal
My focus is powerful
PO2 have a new music video out! Been ride or die for these two since grouptherapy., and have absolute faith they're gonna blow up big as time goes on. Check out their album from last year if you get the chance.
So come on take me back into the flat roof
Take me somewhere I'll fit like a glove
Like spilling red wine on the crimson carpet
Accidental but unnoticed and it feels like love
Oh my God, I hate gentrified bathrooms
With their copper taps and handmade soap
What ever happened to the humble local?
What ever happened to, happened to us?
I hate the things I love being criminalised
I hate the straight-jacket schools I grew up in
I hate MPs, judges and magistrates
I hate being taught to base my life on TV stars
I hate being kept waiting by bureaucrats
I hate wars, and all the people who love them
I hate the idea of living on other people's backs
I hate being filed, registered and classified
I hate being watched and monitored
I hate police
I hate the way you talk down to me
I hate being told what to do
I hate you when you don't listen
I hate the way you distort my sexuality with pornography
I hate the pain we inflict on each other
On animals, and on the Earth
And I hate how love songs have become such cliches
Through endless, shallow repetition
No-one really draws eating better than Masakazu Yamaguchi on Adultery Restaurant.
He also draws the… other thing… really well, but that’s harder to post about on here.
Did you do a shonen jump podcast years ago? Just wanted to say it was a great listen back in the day!
I did, and thank you! So much of it was recorded in strange circumstances (literally travelling the world) and with sub-par equipment (initially using a children's microphone from a keyboard playset)that I'm amazed people dug it as much as they did.
I miss the show, and did try and relaunch it years ago, but had the computer I was making it on die, taking several scripts with it (or so I thought. Learned THIS YEAR that I had them backed up). Maybe one day.
If you're interested, I still dabble in Shonen Jump occasionally as a researcher for Shonen Flop, and even still podcast over at Radio Gundam, but this is less about me selling my new stuff as just saying hey.
THANK YOU, so much, for listening to FEV. It means a lot.
Episode 2 of RF 78.2 Radio Gundam is now live!
Radio Gundam 02 - Calm A Garma Down
Show notes to come later, but please dive in with us as we tackle episodes 4-6 of the original Mobile Suit Gundam, discussing such things as Wrigley’s Breath Strips, Lou Reed, steamy shower scenes, Amuro’s increasing descent into irreparable trauma, the concept of ‘ambooshing’, the die-cast toys of Clover, our favourite non-Gundam robot shows, and much, MUCH more.
My pals and I make cool things. Listen to our cool thing!
It’s a weekend full of podcasting, research, and general recovery from the working week, and the last of which is being achieved by reading more of Jeff Smith’s Bone!
Here’s an immaculate bit of comic storytelling from The Great Cow Race. Every panel links to the next in an intensely clean and readable way. Continuity, baybeeeeeee.
For all Gundam Fans, have a F91 Gundam F91. It’s my personal favorite and I especially like the Ferrari-looking chest.
one of my girlfriends only tells the truth. my other girlfriend only tells lies.
and yes, they both smoke weed
and which one told you that?
