We will bloom!
With backs arched and thighs touching, We will bloom!
With stretch marks deeply rooted in our bodies, tracing a road map to the promised land and telling stories we are not brave enough to tell, We will bloom!
With names so demeaning we walk with our heads low and compliments so objectifying we hide our faces, We will bloom!
With stories so horrifying that we pretend they never happened and burdens so heavy you can see our shoulders drooping, We will bloom!
With pain painted behind our makeup and agony masked by our pearly whites, We will bloom!
With reflections so haunting we hide away from mirrors and shadows we are ashamed to call our own, We will bloom!
With scars so deep and visible we wear them like waist beads and veins that adorn our skins like jewelry, We will bloom!
With fears that keep us awake at night and nightmares that haunt us during day time, We will bloom!
With monsters in our closets so old that we called them names and skeletons weâve gotten used to, We will bloom!
Like that brave rose that grew out of concrete and that beautiful eagle that eventually learned to fly, We will bloom!
With thorns in our wings and weeds in our gardens, With broken glass in our soles and limps that just keep getting worse, With heartbreaks so loud we think we might not survive and heartaches so severe we fear we might die, We will bloom!
We bloom differently and we bloom beautifully. We bloom seasonally and we bloom at our own pace. Donât tell a rose to bloom like a lily and donât ask a peony to bloom at the same time as a daisy!
Sometimes we wither and in those seasons donât take us down just because we are not as beautiful as we were before. When my thorns prick you please donât uproot me. Instead groom me so that I may bloom to my full potential.
If my petals fall off donât call me ugly, I am only shading the old to give way to the new. And if youâre one of the petals that fall off of me, donât feel bad because Iâm only trying to be better.
If I donât bloom in my usual season, donât call me cursed or bad quality. Sometimes Iâm just not ready yet and all I need is time.
If I start drying out please water me and if I still end up dying donât throw me away. Make me a pot pourri or into a bouquet of dried flowers coz I know some people love those.
We are women and we bloom! We are a beautiful garden of flowers and each of us has a story to tell and a purpose in the greater picture! Some of us are as bright as sunflowers, others are just calm like lavenders. Some of us are thorny like roses and others soft as baby breath. But regardless, we bloom and we do so beautifully!
As long as we still have seeds, even if you uproot us, WE WILL BLOOM!
