How do the evangelicals explain that one?
And many who didn't die now have to live with permanent disability that prevents them from holding any kind of job (especially because employers are so opposed to making the work accessible).
Those who are able-bodied and still remain have left to fill the higher-paying vacancies left behind by the newly deceased/disabled.
This is definitely not talked about enough. I always hear about the job market being hot right now because people were inspired by the lockdowns and being able to work from home, but hardly ever about how big swathes of humanity literally can't work now because they were disabled or killed by covid.
This is one of the things that caused the shift from feudalism. The black death killed so many people that the lower classes could demand much higher pay for the same jobs because richer folks got desperate for workers.
