USA, Screamin’ Sriracha packaging, 2019

I’m consistently impressed with how @doritos can create a flavor that doesn’t hit immediately, but over the course of a few chips, settles in and reveals itself. How it does that is beyond me. These Screamin’ Sriracha chips have that nice immediate flavor and really stick the landing, kudos. It’s hard to enjoy a whole bag of these though, because of the heat. But man, those tolerable handful are great, better than most of the hot flavors that taste like chemical burn (lookin’ at you, Flamas). 8/10

Mexico, Doritos Hardcore Chipotle Extra Picante, 2018

This hardcore/jacked 3D shape confounds me. It’s kind of like a little triangle biohazard sign of some kind. But that’s a best guess. Let’s not let that distract us from the taste itself. A very solid spice, super red. These are a decent try, but I wouldn’t put these in regular rotation.

Mexico, Doritos Rainbow Citrus and Spices, 2018

These have a sour citrus taste. Not sure the relationship between these and the Rainbow Doritos we had in the US last year. But these weren’t as good. These are much stronger than you might be expecting if you’re a fan of Lime Tostitos.

USA, Wasabi Doritos, 2018

These were reeaaallly good. Wasabi can be a pretty over powering flavor, but it was just enough here. I don’t know why Doritos didn’t just relaunch the Mr. Dragon’s Fire Chips from a few years ago, which were also wasabi flavored, but hey, we’ll take it. I think these are still available out in the wild so grab ‘em while you can. I don’t expect them to hang around too much longer.

Israel, Doritos Grill Flavour, 2018

I’ll be honest, it’s been a while since I tried these. I’m just now getting around to putting them up. But I remember enjoying them. Nice subtle flavor. Grilled. Regionally appropriate flavor. I dug it.

One of things I love about the Israeli Doritos is that they have a Hebrew logo. Like Doritos China or Japan or whatever don’t have Kanji or Kana logos. Interesting that it’s gets adapted here. You can find these intermittently online through eBay or other shops. While I enjoyed them, I’d say these are probably more for the enthusiasts than anyone else. Not really worth rigamarole of finding and buying them online.

Mexico, Doritos 3D Queso, 2018

These little chompers are amazing. Light, crunchy, not too flavorful that you give up on a bag after 2 chips. I remember these from the US and it’s sorta weird that these are (as far as I know) the only 3D sub-brand still in production from any country. We had 3D Jacked for a minute and I suppose they’re supposed be part of that line. But I dunno, not anywhere as good as these. You can find these online from a variety of sellers if you search ‘em out. I encourage you to do so.

USA, Heat Wave BBQ Doritos, 2017

These are less rad. They’re not bad, but the Chipotle Cream are so much better. That’s all there is to it, tbh. These whole “...then HEAT” chips are a technological marvel though. The heat really does hit you after a minute and hangs. I think my issue with these is there isn’t a synergy between the BBQ and the type of heat that follows. It basically just makes you choke and it’s not a spicy bbq. Still enjoyable though.

USA, Heat Wave Chipotle Cream Doritos, 2017 These are so rad. I wasn’t Sure how I’d feel about the Chipotle Cream aspect, but it’s an instant winner and welcome change to just too-damn-hot-to-enjoy flavors. Enjoy thoroughly.

But is it art? Yes. These are art. And they are Hot Cheese flavor. Really a nice blend of hot and cheese without overdoing it like some US flavors do (Flamas, lookin’ at you)...

These are some tasty triangles. If I had one criticism it’s that they were kind of salty. But otherwise, being “healthy” never tasted to good.
