you can feel him staring at you without even looking at him. you huff softly, sinking down on the couch more as you continue to scroll through tiktok. he groans a little, shifting closer on the couch before he's stopped by you raising a hand. "not a move closer, braun." you say, glancing over at him now with a furrowed brow.
"babe..." he all but whines at you, frowning a little as he shifts in his seat. "c'mon, please? i said i was sorry."
"and i said your apology was pending forgiveness."
"yeah, i know. but i'm trying to figure out how to speed up this process. is there a form i can fill out? some sort of survey? anything?" he asks, shifting closer. you allow it, for now. he leans across the gap between the two of you, pressing a kiss to your cheek. he pauses, waiting for a reaction before pressing another one to your temple and slowly covering the half of your face he could reach in kisses. "baby..."
you huff, twisting your lips into a pout to keep yourself from laughing at the way his beard was tickling you as he continued to kiss and coo at you. you shake your head, moving your eyes back to your phone.
"i know that face. you know you wanna forgive me. gonna let me see that pretty smile?"
you huff, pouting up at him as you turn to look at him. your face falters for a moment at the goofy little grin on his lips and the way he began to poke at your side. "i can't smile at you. i'm mad." you say, thought it comes out incredibly weak and not at all how you wanted. he gently takes your chin in his hand, leaning down to kiss you.
"i can think of a few ways to change that." he whispers.

Giggles left your lips as you wiggled and struggled to get free from the big oni’s grasp, his mouth pressing kisses across your face and neck with a smile as he held back his own excitement filled laughter.
”’tto! Stop it, that tickles!” You squealed, hands getting trapped under his big arms that wrapped around your waist holding you closer as he cuddled into you.
”I can’t stop, baby! I must get all my kisses in!” He answered, muffled as he continued to pepper your face in joyful kisses as he slowly started laughing with you, his chest rumbling with the sound and your heart fluttered as you felt yourself falling in love again.
”You’ve gotten enough kisses in.” “Oh ho, I don’t think I have yet. Let me see…” And then his assault continued again, your lips lifted up in a bright smile that stretched from ear to ear as you now tried to hide yourself against his chest, the sound of his heart beat loud and rapid matching his excitement and joy with each kiss he pressed against your lips, cheeks, nose, temples and the top of your head.
His only defense was that ”you looked so kissable” and that’s why he must assault your face in such affections as he holds you against him, a smile on his face at the sound of your high pitched protests and small sounds you let out at ticklish areas his lips press against.
His attacks slows down, softer and more slower kisses against your cheeks, nose and lips as he stares into your eyes in between each press of his soft lips against your skin, you could get lost staring into his eyes and the intensity of it causes you to get embarrassed as your cheeks flush a bright red and you hide your face in the crook of his neck.
He laughs, loud and hearty as he looks down at where you lay against him, clinging to him as you pull yourself impossibly closer to his warmth. A small smile on your face as you press your lips against his neck for a few moments before sighing as you let your fingers dance across his markings, the red lines so familiar you could trace them with your eyes closed.
He had calmed down as well, still excited nonetheless as he held you with a toothy grin on his face that allowed his fangs to peek through into view as you glanced up at his face.
His hand now in your hair as he gently carded his fingers through the soft strands, careful with his nails as he traced your hair line with his index before pulling a few strands between his fingers and twirling them.
”Y’know what you need more of, Sunshine?” He smiled, looking down into your eyes again with pure adoration in his stare as you held eye contact. It was moments like these were you felt yourself falling deeper for Itto, your gaze softens as you run your own fingers through his hair carefully moving around his horns as you play with the soft white tufts of hair.
”And what might that be, baby?” You grinned, eyes in a loving daze as you stare into his crimson ones, already slowly feeling his energy rise back up again as you mentally slap yourself for humoring his question.
He pulls you closer, his breath fanning over your face as his lips were merely inches apart as he answers enthusiastically,
“You’re in need of more kisses, sweetheart. And I’m gonna give em to ya!”

I'm going to need the next Illium and Aodhan book ASAP. Nalini confirmed that they would be main characters again at some point in her book release event last night, but I need to know what's next. Archangel's Light was perfect imo.
