Hello hello cosmere fandom! o/

You can call me Oblivion, my pronouns are They/it/he, and I am an adult. I've never done an intro post so here we go.

I made this blog bc I wanted somewhere to repost a million cosmere memes without drowning my mcyt mutuals in content they don't understand, and so I could yap mindlessly about everything I think about while I read because no one is here to listen to me infodump.

Expect lots of short live blogging type posts probably, and intermittent posts on the complete other side of the spectrum where I talk way too long about an idea I had or something I noticed because I love picking apart my media.

As of right now (April 2026) I'm completely caught up on all cosmere books! (Correction, minus White Sands)

Stormlight Archive were the first books I read, sometime before Rythm of War came out. And I've since read the entire series more than once, the earlier books more bc I re-read when a new one comes out.

I've also read Mistborn at least twice, I think the second books I read, and the Wax and Wayne twice.

I've listened to the entire Arcanum unbounded and all the individual books. But I haven't read the graphic novel for White Sands.

My favorite books probably have to be the first three Stormlight books. You can't really beat the first taste, and those days in the bridge crews always keep me coming back.

Okay so I need everybody to picture this with me.

I was watching Into the Spider Verse, and I was like, hm. I wonder if an edgedancer could run along a wall like that, because of the friction thing. And then I was thinking about how they both move really fluidly and I was like I wonder if an edgedancers could be spiderman.

Windrunner

Windrunner spiderman. Guys this is genius.

They both learn to steady themselves when falling and moving through the air by angling their body. And they can both stick to walls! And I know when we think of windrunners we think more of flying but really, if they use gravitation in a short burst instead of prolonged, it's the same type of movement! A strong pull in one direction, and then using your own body and slight adjustments, pulls in other directions, to more acutely change your course. Windrunner's tend to be described as basically flying, but the jerky motion? That's the same kind if movement. And windrunners should spend more time walking on walls and stuff. I think if they had big cities with tall buildings and stuff like this they would absolutely be getting themself up onto places they shouldn't to hang out. Guys you gotta imagine this with me because I think it's pretty awesome. Take a windrunner and drop them in NY, that's basically spider man already. "With great power comes great responsibility" like they would eat that up. Kaladin's whole issue is not being able to save everyone, and balancing his own life with his sense of duty!

That being said, I'd like to propose Lopen as the most fitting of the spiderman swag. He's got the jokes, he's got the hometown vibe. He loves sticking to walls. And also I suggest Sigzil as his guy in the chair.

Szeth and Kaladin parallels / Windrunner and Skybreaker parallels because "there is no right way". To both of them, there is no clear path. There is no solid answer.

When Kaladin faces his conflicts with Ehlokar he wants to be told what the more honorable path is but not even Syl can do that for him because morality and honor are completely individual. No one can tell you what is right.

And Szeths whole story is basically about how he can't accept that there is no right way and he that has to do what he personally thinks is best. +Their final ideal being that they become their own moral compass.

Somehow I just recently realized that part of gravitation means you can control pressure?? Is that wild or what. That's wild to me. That's so cool. Like what do you mean Kaladin can just make the air denser. And also the tower being able to pressurize the surrounding area so their ears don't even pop anymore? Tbh I'm assuming that's an air pressure thing Im not exactly sure how that works.

So like.....can they create atmosphere??

Hello Wind and Truth spoilers

I just have to put it out there that Shallan's armour spren are my favorite thing ever and they bring me so much joy. Unfathomable joy. They are so baby. They want to be helpful so bad. They are so good.

The way they bounce around and repeat her name in shadesmar makes me grin uncontrollable every time. Shallan with her little jumping beans. (*´ω｀*)
