I think people love to romanticize mating bond when SJM herself has sited so many examples of why it’s basically a shackle and a means of breeding than love. So what has Rhys and feyre got to do with being mates and him assaulting her? Not once did he try to free her. A lot of people do sympathize with Tamlin which is great but saying he was possessive of feyre makes me know how people still haven’t really gone back to book one to read about Tamlin.

Feyre through out the next books spins a narrative about Tamlin that was never true and still people take it and run with it. A clear example is when she said he did nothing when amarantha was hurting her “he never crawled for me” he actually did and help you in his arms because like the faerie who died you fey said no one should die alone.

If protection is coined as being possessive then Tamlin was never and is not a good person.

Rhysand says himself he was MORE THAN HAPPY to torture, abuse, and kill Amaratha’s enemies. He never says who they were, but who do you think Amarantha stood against? Innocent, good people who were fighting to break her chains of tyranny. He was eager to do it. He took joy in it.

He routinely butchered and decapitated people and left their bodies branded with the sigil not of Amarantha, not of Hybern, but the fucking Night Court at Spring’s borders to send a message.

Tamlin violated feyre sexually. He sexually harassed her in a room full of men and to make matters worse she was im pretty sure 20 in that scene and he’s over 500. It gives me the mental image of an old man humiliating his glaringly young ex out of spite. Idk maybe that scene just hit too close to home for me because I know exactly how feyre was feeling in that moment. Sexual harassment is no joke. Especially coming from older men and when it’s done in a room full of people and meant to humiliate you. Nothing feyre did warranted that feeling and nothing tamlin was going through warranted his actions.

This was a meeting about helping innocent people and he started off violating his ex. It’s not a shock that no one really listened to what he had to say after that.
