Witness the Nearly Departed
The evening will open with a grand performance by the Nearly Departed. At the top of every hour past, another performance will occur. Ten minutes before a performance begins, members of the troupe will begin to direct attendants who wish to observe to the appropriate staging ground.
Crown the King and Queen
Half past five will herald the beginnings of a costume contest to crown the Fire King and the Summer Queen. Three judges will decide on which entering attendant most thoroughly embraces each concept. A tribute will accompany the title, although it is worth noting that the Fire King could be a Fire Queen, the Summer Queen could be a Summer King or there could be two Kings or two Queens.
Test Your Memory, Test Their Might
From six to seven, there will be two ongoing activities. Interested attendants may choose to challenge a participating member of the troupe to tactics or trivia, displaying their knowledge of Azeroth or prowess with battle pets. Participation in battle or wit will reward a token of the troupe’s approval; victory will reward more than one.
Explore the Woods
Starting at seven, the troupe will hold a brief foray through Eversong Woods. Participating attendants will be given a list of local flavors to sample and trinkets to acquire. Upon their return, they will be rewarded with a scaling number of tokens to express the troupe’s appreciation.
Bring the Evening Home
Every hour, the vendors will cycle, making new goods and unfamiliar faces available throughout the night. While many of the vendors will trade in tangible items, a few will offer services like fortune-telling. After the scavenger hunt, a prize vendor will appear to accept accumulated tokens for their goods.
What is the expected audience etiquette during the performances?Â
Please use /party or /whisper among yourselves for the duration of a performance. Our performances will not be long - only around ten minutes each - and you will be welcome to react more visibly at the end. Please don’t /whisper the performers till their act is over.
Do I have to pay the vendors with real gold?
Only if you want one of our real items. We are happy to sell you an in-character item with in-character gold. Additionally, if you already have an item, but want to say you bought it from us, we will be happy to agree.
May I attempt to haggle with you?Â
In short, yes. In more detail, your success will be determined by the proportion of your desired price to the item’s normal price. We will already be selling cheaper than Auction House, so we probably won’t cut that in half.
What kind of real items will you be selling?Â
Most of our items will be roleplay-relevant. We focus on companionship contracts, companion pets and roleplay/transmogrification gear. That said, we will probably have practical things like bags and materials as well.
What is a companionship contract?Â
A companionship contract is how we explain selling companion pets that are too smart to be considered pets. We explain it as you paying the vendor to negotiate a companionship contract for you and your desired companion. There is an explicit understanding that if you breach the terms of the contract, we are not responsible for your new companion burning down your house.
