Got a couple of secondhand books from a newly-opened bookstore right next door from my apartment.

They're fairly-priced and I've been eyeing a copy of Frankenstein for a while now. Fully Booked has this specific published cover on the shelf for about P300++. Got this copy for a hundred bucks.

Fahrenheit 451 is moderately-annotated by its previous owner, a student who read it in fourth period. Frankenstein's previous owner inserted a few notes, as well. Not as many, and whoever it was left a bookmark torn from a Greyhound bus ticket at the notes section at the end of the book.

Whether they were reading up to that point or they just parked it there, I don't know.

If you're in Manila go check out The Common Ground along Leon Guinto, near the corner of Pedro Gil. They got a really nice selection and the people running the place look engaged in chatting you up if you like to talk about books.

My only critique of the place is the lights seem to be a bit dim and I was straining my eyes browsing their bookshelves. Or maybe I just need glasses now.
