only colt seavers would smile at being called unbearable. he knew that he was slowly chipping away at this idea, getting closer an closer to a yes, or at least something along the lines of a yes. whatever it is— he’ll take it. a stunts a stunt, who was he to complain? “i think you mean irresistible, not unbearable. but okay” he states with a smug look on his face, chuckling to himself
“wh— really?” colt perked up like a dog that was being given a treat “you’ll let me try?” he shifted in his seat, turning around just enough to face her. colt knew that look. the look that said don’t you dare mess this up for me.
he nodded, silently swearing to himself that he’d kill it in one take “okay— okay, okay. one take” despite the fact that it was like he was getting told off in school over again, he still sat there with a smile on his face. it’s not his fault. he couldn’t look at jody without completely melting everytime, she just had that effect on him “right, right deal. one take. no getting hurt. no hospital. i promise— you won’t regret letting me do this”
jody could see the way that his face lit up with excitement when he finally got his way and she agreed to his idea. that in itself was more than enough to make her question her own decisions . “ don’t be so pleased with yourself . ” she mumbled , rolling her eyes despite that fact that she was unable to hide that hint of amusement .
“ this is merely a temporary lapse of judgement on my part . ” but she’d allow it , as much as she was already considering taking what she said back . the thought of hospitals was enough to make her expression shift on its own , as though the unwanted memory had lingered back into her mind . her jaw clenched subtly while she studied his face , a hand reaching out for a brief moment . before she pulled it back again , no . don’t get all soppy now .
clearly her throat, she relaxed her body again . “ and if you do anything overtly stupid , i will make sure that your next stunt consists of you getting thrown out of my production . ”
“you won’t regret it, i promise you right now” colt stands up from the couch, a beaming smile on his face, he’s not so drowsy and tired from the hours of work now. he walks over to jody and wraps his arms around her for a tight hug “i could kiss you right now” colt doesn’t realise how it sounds until the words leave his mouth, then he’s letting out an awkward choke of a laugh, pulling away “not that i-. i won’t. that’s not what i meant. i’m not gonna try kiss you”
oh god, he was bright red more flushed than ever and kept stuttering over every word that left his mouth before running a hand over his face. how embarrassing. what idiot says that to their ex girlfriend?
although, colt wishes that he could kiss her again. he misses that feeling. how soft she was against his mouth and how sweet it felt for her fingers to run through his hair. they’d sneak kisses on set when no one was looking, kissed good morning (and goodbye) almost everyday. they were perfect and colt had to go out and ruin it. wait, wait wait— now is not the time to start daydreaming colt
“anyway. thank you” he clears his throat, another awkward shift as he fixes his hair that didn’t need any fixing, doing anything that’ll postpone him from saying something else dumb “i got this. one shot, yeah? i’ll get out of your way, i’ll see you on set”

“please?” he asks with a stupid grin, really pushing his luck. it seems like a pretty firm no. but he’s gotten no’s to several stunt ideas before, and they’re the ones that end up in the movies “ oh come on. that was one time and it was an accident, i’ll be in full control of it this time. not some wires with a guy operating it. i’m your best driver ”
he almost shuddered at the distant memory of his injury. she’s got a point, that still haunted colt and he certainly didn’t want to go through all of that again. but regardless? he was dedicated to this jump
“uhhh” he was stalling again. of course he didn’t have a plan. whenever colt got free reign of a stunt car he didn’t know how to act accordingly ever. he just got in the thing and drove like a maniac “i’m not praying that it’ll look good, i know that it’ll look good” he’s dodging her question. colts only idea of a plan is to absolutely wing it “don’t you want your movie to look its very best?” colt can’t help but smile up at her. she tends to have that affect on him even when he has totally taken her trailer over as his own
that grin . he was making it increasingly difficult for jody to stay irritated with him , but nonetheless she listened — his first victory . of course she wanted the movie to look brilliant , but was it worth sacrificing colt ?

“well—” colt actually pauses for a moment to think about it. which is ridiculous because there’s not a single instance in their entire time of knowing each other that it was a good idea to listen to him “uh—” his voice trails off, stalling, thinking, mentally bumping into a brick wall. he’s got nothing

jody let out a long sigh , fingers pinching the bridge of her knows . a whole minute , a whole minute to think of one time that listening to him was a good idea — yet he could come up with nothing . that told her all she needed to know to put her stubbornness into full effect . . . for as long as she could hold off anyway .
“ no , colt . ” the blonde spoke firmly , her arms now crossed over her chest . there was a small shake of her head , though she was fighting to hold back a smile now . “ you are not doing it , i will not have another accident on set . i don’t care how cool you think it’ll look . ”
she had to admit , his dedication was somewhat admirable . she pushed herself off of the kitchenette counter and began to pace the short length of the trailer . she was sure that he was determined to wear her down until he got the answer that he wanted — since they had been at this for some time now .
