I wake up with my jaw clenched shut

my eyes wide open. 

Like I’m trying too hard to stay quiet, even when I’m alone.

She gets into my skull, she presses her forehead on mine and everything shudders around me. 

Every single color glitters in her hair when I press my face into her shoulder. 

and I try to hold myself there, but I fall away, and she looks at me like I’m hurting her. 

We are all or nothing. 

She is all, and I am nothing. 

She’s always crying, and I know its me. Something I’m doing or not doing. 

She tells me what she needs. Different each day.

I tell her nothing and she demands answers, crying when I oblige, crying when I don’t. 

What can I say.

I need to be whole on my own. 

I love you.
