@thefeelingsofalovelyloser
I've tried to think otherwise, but im going to miss you. Im not very good at separating my emotions; my anger and sadness at whats happened, and my love for what came before. Its all balled up inside, in jar labelled "Sergio". I think a piece of my heart left. I haven't been crying, even though i want to for every moment that passes. I know that what happened may be for the best. I wont keep falling for someone that cant return it, and you wont have to worry about spending the energy you dont have. In my mind its right, in my heart its the biggest tragedy ive faced in a time that feels like eternity. I dont know if its enough that you have a place in my heart. I dont know if its possible to love a persons entirety in a matter of days, but i know it happened in moments. When i met you. When i saw you that first time. In my memory it feels like it lasted forever, and i hope it does. But the love ive known is fleeting like time, and our time was short. You might never know what really happened, what effect you had on me. I wont tell you now. I want to share it, but i want it to be mine. If i tell you it will be gone, and i might never feel it again. If you had asked me i would have stayed. If you had fought a little harder, shown me that it was okay to love you, there would have been nothing that could keep me from you. But its all a memory now. Something of that past that reminds me it can happen, and that reminds me it can be ripped from me. Theres so much i wished could have been. So much that never will be. I want to thank you, and i want you to never talk to me again without tears in your eyes. Is that hateful?
The last time we spoke wasn't real, and the times we spoke after weren't real either. When I think of you i wonder if you're real. Then i remember you're not, and you told me that in every way that mattered to me
I wouldn't say it to you or to myself, but I loved you a little bit. not with all my heart, because love is a limited resource that i give too freely, but your name was on my tongue and thinking of you makes me miss the cold air and the crisp leaves that I always hated, because that's where our memories are.
I miss you if I'm honest with myself, which I'm not. instead, the truth is that you hurt me so badly at a time that I needed your support, at a time that you were the precipice of my mind, that the combination of emotions is overwhelming and I medicate myself as though you're pulling the trigger.
I wouldn't say it would be better if we never met, because there are memories and feelings that I felt.
That's why it would be better if we never met.
if the squeezing of my heart isn't a heart attack then I wish it were gone, because you're so much worse
Disgusting by Austen Cudrow
Like a film cut into scenes, I remember short clips of my life before. I sat in that loveseat in the dark because I was told that demons run rampant in the bedroom I took comfort in. the only demons I knew of were my own, though I was too small to recognize them. they grew each day back then. The love of a mother had always been eclipsed by the love of the holy Bible.
that's why I was straight then. I wasn't before, and I wasn't after, but for those weeks where demons kept me from my own self, I was what she told me I should have been. I had been washed clean of that disgusting lifestyle in the holy name of a saint in a church I couldn't remember, a saint who wouldn't do it the second time. Disgusting - the first word I'd heard spat in the direction of a man in heels and a sparkling scarf. oh yes, she wanted everyone to know that I was clean. she wanted my friends to know, and so they heard by phone in my small voice, trying to hide from the numbers i dialed. though they didn't love me, or so I'd heard, so I saw little point. she wanted family to know, and they heard too from her sunken place in the doorway where phone met ash. I couldn't escape. I could see the saddened eyes of anyfew I could see then, eyes that knew. it wasnt until she came to me - in a plush robe, which would have otherwise blinded an unfamiliar son - speaking in tongues that you can only hear on the corner of 8th and Riverside, that it all came to an end. It washed away then, soon after the gun pointed away from my head, just as she wished the saint could have done back then, and fear was replaced with other things of both light and dark. I felt the demons were there, the demons left in that room by demand, those that flocked to me when she pressed me to the wall and spat at me. the demons of emotions I wasn't allowed to feel; sadness at the loss of all I knew, anger at the one person who deserved all of it yet none of it at the same damn time, relief that at least my brother was safe. there is a rigid, sharp thing without a name that appears under the ribcage within the loathing of someone you love - a person close to the heart that cannot be blamed for what they did not choose, but they chose it all the same. you know, you KNOW, YOU KNOW that when blood calls for sedation, it takes everything to resist, but you know also that giving in is a choice. it is later I learned that choices are double edged swords, and they always cut. there were demons there, then, but they were not in my bedroom; they were on the bathroom counter, in the master bedroom, on tables and surfaces that would GLOW with a blacklight. as the blue uniforms took us all, I did not know where I would go, nor my baby brother, but anything was better than the house on Archer.
You had everything
Could have had everything
To make your life your own.
You were in pain
Crying for help in a language
you never had to learn.
I looked at you then
And i look at you now
The same as you'd always been
In pictures of way back when
And i wish I could tell you
What you needed to hear.
You were light
A beacon of everything
Everything that was good
A purity that you didn't know
And i want to ask
Who stole it from you?
Beautiful is a word i once knew
But now washed by tide
Of a memory.
I wish life didn't ask from you
The life you should have lived
A glass bowl, like of a fish,
Crafted large and lain in thick glass,
Rests firmly on my shoulders;
I can see and I can hear,
Distorted like a mockery of the world,
It weighs me down and reminds me
I am unusual, different, small.
Maybe I am a goldfish,
Small because my world is small.
I cannot grow until I am free -
But where is big enough
For a goldfish like me?
My heart sings a song of woe
Loss and empty from the battlefield
My trenches left barren
And I have no more soldiers to send
Victory is won half-mast
And I never waved a flag
But I never won either
And that is true for war and love
There are no more “maybes”
“what if’s” or “buts”
Because all is in stone,
Carved fresh like wounds
And we know it is better to end a war
Before you lose more than you’ve won
And so goodbye to all soldiers
Lay my fields to waste and fill the trenches
But a war zone keeps the shells and blood
Blood never goes away
Our romance wilted before it blossomed
A stolen memory that once contained joy
Now it looms overhead, a question now named
And the only answer is the shadow it casts.
Return to me never
For life is full of tricks;
Leave me by the doorstep,
I’m a clock needing a fix.
I loved you once
But you locked me out
Now that I have the key
I don't want back in
- A hurt heart
Knives Hurt
Why do we have to hurt
When our hearts are too fragile
And we become frigid from pain
Breaking into painful glass
Our tears become knives to cut
And our pain becomes blame
And this is all for what?
To show that we are stronger
It's not really true, though
Is it?
That strength, too, is a facade;
We are weak
We are bone,
Brittle and breaking
Our hearts, soft flesh
And they break too
Our tears, burning oceans
While our lungs burn, too
And we will never be rid
Of that terrible pain
Pain after and Before Death
Today my heart broke
Along with the rest of my family
I'm breaking and somebody else
Shattered the remaining pieces
I told you this would happen
That I would rely on you
But you pushed me down a hill
That I was already rolling down
I tried to talk to you
I tried to rely on you
You told me to stop
You wanted me to stop
Then I got home
Tears in the back of my skull
And you had an essay due
So you did that instead
Youre probably too young
For me to put my feelings on
You want a boyfriend?
Well, this is what it's like
You get the happiness and love
You get to be joyful
But you get the anger and sadness
And all that comes after
You don't want this damage
This heartache
You say you had it bad
I promise I've had it worse
And this is the tip of the iceberg
The boxes we build
Made from cardboard and straw
Keep us safe from the lions paw
We chirp and sing
For the kitty's pleasure
But our pain is far from measure
One day we fly free
The lion far behind
Our mistakes too far to remind
Adieu to the roars
And lions singing scores
Right to another box
The same as before
Eventually we find another
A lover or brother
To build a right nest
We chirp and sing
The bells will ring
And time does the rest
Happiness will find
True love in kind
And we will be our best
I was fire,
You were ice
Attracted from a glance
But dangerous at full stare
We danced like flames
And your frost hid your blame
You burned too bright
So I blocked my eyes from the glare
Grey Rainbow
I look outside and I see the grey skies, dark clouds, and the beautiful blue-grey sea miles and miles away. I watch the waves crash against the shore from my white-paned window and I can almost HEAR the crashing water, I can almost smell the sea breeze. The gulls fly above the pier, the bright grey sands.
I can still remember the last time I had gone to the beach - about two months ago. There's something magic about the beach, and I feel it every time I visit. As soon as I get out of the car the world [somehow] seems bright and vivid, like the grey clouds get lighter and the ocean breeze is stronger than it felt when I was in the car. I walk with the sound of my flip-flops hitting the ground lightly /clop clop clop clop/ and I hold my towel closer to my chest, where a rising feeling starts burning hotter as I approach the sand.
I stop just before I reach the beach, curling my toes, taking in the smell and feeling the wind coarsing through my hair. I step out of my flip-flops and gingerly press my feet onto the cold pavement and I can feel grains of sand scattered on top; the heat in my chest burns hotter yet as I prepare myself. I lift my foot and step forward: as soon as my foot touched the sand colors exploded into my vision and I could see the yellow in the sand that was never there before, the blue sky that just a moment ago seemed like storm clouds, and the ocean breeze smells sweet and salt brushes my face and I am warm and beeming like a lighthouse into the ocean. I see the waves crawl toward me and receed back to the ocean with the sound of a thousand waterfalls - I can see the foam being dragged away by the tide.
As I walk amongst the sands, my feet sinking and digging into the tiny dunes, I feel my shoulders lose their weight as if they are filled with helium and the smell of the sea breeze soothes my skin, my muscles, down to my bones. That heat in my chest burned brighter than ever and a lifting, warm air filled my chest, expanding it like a balloon.
Truth to Love
Gifting your heart
to another person as selfish as you
Is foolish and proves a great risk
Isn't that right?
To kiss and flirt
And entangle your fingers together;
Is to give pieces of your heart
Unprotected.
You give these pieces with each smile
And each stolen glance
You give your heart
A gift as raw as fresh meat
And as painful as the knife
Used to carve it
But if you see
The beauty of his smooth face
His sparkling, colorful eyes
The man that matters
Youll know why I give my raw, carved heart
So bloody, so pained and beaten down
To another
Like a flower
He is my own kind of home
A place to rest my head
He's my beauty
And as Gaia to the Wicca, the Celtics
He's my God of desire, and something else
"Symbol of love"
Perhaps that's what love really is
A feeling so true and specific
Only to you
If I were asked
If love is foolish and risky
And giving your heart can be dangerous
I would say yes
But there, upon a beautiful man,
I will see his warm face
And weep for joy
For he has a pure heart and it tells me
That through all of the pain and anger
Love is worth risk
