I have my box close by. Its just too much. When you invest yourself into something for so many years, you feel a huge loss when its taken away. I’m going to feel the same way during Game of Thrones on Sunday. I only invest myself into certain tv shows and movies and this weekend just really hurts.

So just logged into my account after a long absence and it tells me I have a post flagged for adult content.  I’m like.. what post?  I don’t post adult content.  So I go to the flagged post and it is a teenage mutant ninja turtle lying on his bed.  lol.. yes tumblr - they don’t wear clothing.  I get it.  Still not adult content though.

Most companies are probably going to continue their regular food safety procedures, but a few things you can do to reduce some personal risk:

Buy hard, solid veggies and fruits (apples, melons) or ones with rinds (bananas are probably fine). Scrub the peel/rind thoroughly with soap and water before consumption.

The more solid and dense the meat, the less likely it is for contamination to spread very far. Buy your meat in solid cuts, NOT GROUND. Especially not ground chicken rn, salmonella bad.

Cook things thoroughly. Follow guidelines for the internal temperatures meat is supposed to reach and stick to those guidelines. Use a meat thermometer. Make your steaks well done for a while.

I’d stay away from shellfish as a whole if I were you. The diseases you can get from it are some of the nastier ones. No sushi for a while, too. If you have fish, make sure it was frozen following anti-parasitic guidelines and cook thoroughly.

AVOID LEAFY GREENS. This is where we’ve been seeing the most outbreaks lately, so be very careful.

The pregnant, elderly, immunocompromised, and the very young are the ones most at risk in an outbreak. If you are in one of these groups, be extremely cautious and avoid soft cheeses and prepackaged deli meats. Check on friends and family in these groups. Report symptoms of foodborne illness to a doctor so they can report to the state health depts that are still running.

Even with these in mind, remember that most outbreaks of foodborne illness are due to things like improper cooking and storage. Stay safe out there, folks 💙

Having worked in Food production companies I can tell you that the food safety will still be taken extremely seriously. They are not going to drop their standards just because there are no inspections. For instance, meat processing plants face quite a bit of competition and it is a million if not billion dollar industry in the states. They don’t want to lose business to their competitors because of reports of hospitalised customers.

Have you guys ever gotten close to anyone who you capture? I figured that since you spend quite a bit of time, you might feel a little close to the, but I could be wrong.

Leo: I captured @southernblossoms and we’re close in past stories my mun worked on. We have the longest history together in the fandom (Mun: I think). I have also gotten close with others as well and listed them prior to this ask. @ellieandtheguys knows this too.

Donnie: I captured @accioturtur in the early days and got close to her. Also have a thing for @giochandoll and @mythigal1966.

Raph: I got my @hollybunch95, @levanaart, and @waterstar2016 as my little Birdcakes!

Mikey: I got lotsa ladies! One is @cats-eye-galaxy <3 And I got other admirers but not all captured ladies ;)

Side Note To Fan Fic Authors

Here’s the thing.

I read a lot of scripts.  A lot.  From professionals to aspiring writers to complete newbies.  Features and pilots.  Specs and treatments.

And 8 times out of 10 the fan fic that I’ve read over the last, oh, 15 years is leagues better than this stuff.  It’s more inspired.  It’s more compelling.  It’s genre bending and creative and heartfelt.  It’s well-paced and intense and funny and sexy and meaningful.  It’s smart and thoughtful and good.  It’s novel-quality.  Better than, sometimes.

Rare is the script I don’t want to put down, but how often have we stayed up until 3am to get to the last chapter of a 100k fic? And it’s not even a fan fic author’s day job.  This is what they do on the side.  In their spare time.  For free.

So my point is, fan fic authors, you’re good.  You’re good writers and great storytellers.  I know it doesn’t always feel like it, especially if you’re one of the authors who’s not a BNF and doesn’t get the notes/hits that a few do.  And  because some people still view fic as “not real writing.” You guys know the shit that gets made into movies.  You’re better than that.  So be better than that.  If writing is what you think want to do, then just know you’re already doing it.   You’ve already started.

And you’re more talented than you might think.
