I have them. They are mine. They cannot be taken from me. I must ration them. Ambrosia.
I've been thinking about Romanian Pop Cola this past week. I long for it. I cannot find it in the UK and that only makes me want it more. What god punishes me.
I'm pretty sure they've changed the recipe to fentimans cola and I don't want to look it up because I still want that hope.that I've just gone entirely insane rather than them having ruined it.
Drinks
Mint lemonade and mango lemonade. One of the best things about eating in this part of the world.
Drinks
Schweppes pomegranate. I like it. I don't have complex thoughts on it I just like it.
Drink review: Pop Cola
A fruity, full sugar cola reminiscent of cocta. I don't know how widespread it is having found it in a Carrefour in Constanta but its well worth getting. Perfectly refreshing cold.
Drink review: Lovely Original Cola
Burnt sugar cola‽ It's so good it's got this incredible dark toffee flavour with enough botanicals to round it out into something recognisably cola.
Drink Review: The London Essence Co Pomelo and Pink Pepper Tonic Water
Pomelo and Pink Pepper Tonic Water. Okay that's something really interesting. Bitter and citrussy (okay that's kinda obvious it's tonic) it tastes quite like grapefruit. I think I get a subtle hint of the pepper but that tonic aftertaste and feel kinda overwhelms anything delicate. I think I like it but I really have never made my mind up on tonic as a whole.
The smell is absolutely delightful though.
Drink Review: Candy Can Sour Apple
Candy can sour apple. It's really quite refreshing and the flavour hits sour apple right on the nail. It is however lacking the intensity I'd have expected. The flavour is a bit muted, it's not sweet enough and not acidic enough to really stand out. I think it's really let down by being zero sugar unfortunately.
None of this stops it being a genuinely nice drink.
Barrs Cans
Why have I never seen Raspberryade. Who has been keeping this from me
Drink Review: Fentimans Tropical Soda
Fentimans Tropica Soda. I think a pineapple soda was probably the last thing I expected from Fentimans but they've absolutely succeeded with it. It's a fairly light drink, not overly sweet but not overwhelmed by it's carbonation and has flavour far closer to pineapple than any other similar drink I've tried. The cardamom and other botanicals add a really welcome depth of flavour and a lot of interest to the taste
Drink Review: M&S Very Interesting Cola
M&S Cola. Whilst not advertised as a diet cola it's obviously artificially sweetened. It's a sweet, fruity, quite vanilla heavy cola although I'm not sure the citrus really meshes with the rest of the drink.
Drink Review: Cocta Original
Cocta Original. A truly wonderful Slovenian cola that is tragically difficult to find in the UK. It's fruity and sweet and slightly herbal; it's easily in contention for my favourite cola. Anyone visiting a former Yugoslav country should absolutely seek it out.
Drinks Review: Rubicon Sparkling Mango
Rubicon Mango. Rubicon passion fruit but switch out the fruit and don't take that to be a bad thing. Sweet and fruity and refreshing.
Fanta Premier Lemon—I really like this! It's a slightly bitter lemon soda with pulp, kind of like Orangina but more bitter. Very refreshing. There's two other flavors and I've got a coupon for a free one, so I'm hoping to see more of these around!
Drinks Review: Fever- Tree Refreshingly Light Madagascan Cola
Fever Tree Madagascan Cola. It's fever Tree so it's obviously meant as a mixer rather than a stand alone but that is not a good enough reason. This is the light version and that lack of calories manifests itself in a certain emptiness that comes from cutting a drinks sugar but that is really my only criticism. This is a very vanilla centric cola and overall it's quite a balanced cola.
No idea what it's like as a mixer though.
