i'm rewatching season 7 with my girlfriend and each time there's a spuffy scene it hits me that their relationship is at its most attractive to me in season 7 because both of them have very clearly matured--there's been growth and they are both grown ass adults now. as much as i love toxicity and moral greyness in storytelling it's often the growth that happens afterwards that's the hottest part, the thing that makes it all worthwhile.

freak4freak is always so awesome but another character dynamic that i think is really great is freak vs freak. you're the only person who understands me and i'm the only person who understands you. unfortunately this also does not stop either of us from hating each other and in fact it might even make everything significantly worse for everyone involved

1. "Buffy, right?" LIKE SHE WASN'T SURE? LIKE SHE DIDN'T PLAN THIS. LIKE SHE DIDN'T REHEARSE THE EXACT ENTRANCE SHE WANTED TO MAKE. STRONG START

2. Sad but cute but sad - when she gets "Spahtan, right?" from Gwendolyn Post bc she's soooo fucking desperate for a parental figure

3. Her very casual "you already got the tix, why don't we go together?" asking Buffy to homecoming + subsequent 'we can tooootally hook up with dudes there' + spending the entire time antagonizing Buffy's recent ex

4. Her totally cool party shen was invited to on Christmas that was absolutely real

5. Asking Buffy about if she fucks her friends and talking about how horny she gets slaying and then telling Buffy she needs to fuck her friends more. Okay girl

6. When Buffy calls her a loser in Enemies and it REALLY hurts her feelings

7. Forehead kiss "you're not ready for that yet"

8. THE STABBING - one of th best faith gets the shit kicked out of her moments

9. LOSER MOMENT - pettily throwing herself off the roof immediately post-stabbing. Fuck your life

10. FAITH SAD "EVIL AGAIN" WINDOW STARE IN THIS YEARS GIRL WHEN SHE SEES RILEY

11. Taking Buffy's mom captive to whine about how she got dumped by Buffy. PEAK loser moment

12. LOSER/SHIT KICK HYBRID SUPREME - absolutely beating the shit out of her own face in the body swap episode while sobbing and calling herself disgusting and saying she's nothing. And then immediately running away.

13. The dance floor riot she starts in five by five. Loser

17. reminds me actually her "it would be cool to have sex with Buffy" creative writing assignment monologue to Spike (also first conversation ever) in Who Are You - incredible moment

18. When she is in charge of the potentials for ten minutes and immediately gets them blown up and gives herself another coma and more head trauma - great s7 combo loser shit kick moment

Obviously blonde4blonde ships are fucked up and scary, but it's important to remember that fiction isn't reality. Many people enjoy things in fiction that would be fucked up irl, and writing blonde4blonde ships doesn't inherently mean that someone is actually okay with two blonde people dating in real life.
