def-marchâ:
âSo? Questions are good, especially when ya wanna get into someones head and bother the absolute hell outta âem.â 777 smirked, moving some things off of the Officers desk (and onto the floor at that,) plopping himself to sit down, head resting on his fist as he looked over at Konishi. For once he had the upper edge in a conversation here, and by hell, heâs going to lap it up.
âItâs like, the only thing we have in common? Yer so orderly, so strict, ya couldnât tell what was fun if it came right up to ya and bitch slapped those glasses right off yer face.â
Excitement, fear, it was as if Konishi didnât feel anything at all, ever. How could someone just not feel? 777 couldnât wrap his head around that. Everyone he knew in the UG still felt emotions,m even if they avoided them to hell and back, pretending they didnât exist. (Looking at you, Sho.) But to turn them just off entirely, being completely ice cold as a result?
The singer just couldnât wrap his head around that, especially not as someone who felt emotions so intensely that heâd start crying in the middle of the street solely because he remembered a sad scene from a movie. It was just part of being human, and all Reapers were human once, no matter how many years ago it was.
Was Konishi ever human to begin with then?
âMaybe Iâm curious about the past âcuz I dwell on it so much,â 777 scoffed, rolling his eyes. âReally not gonna tell me who he is, huh? At least give me a hint or somethinâ to work with here!â
777 paused for a second, before asking. âDo ya miss him?â
âYouâre sorely mistaken if you think you can play mind games with me. Â Â I suggest starting off with something more on your level of intelligence...like a rat.â
How truly obnoxious.
Yet, unsurprising coming from 777. There was little to no merit in learning anything about her, especially from a few years ago at that. Everything about her wasnât disclosed or openly aired out to just anyone. Especially cretin reapers like himself. What was even the point of asking such useless questions about her? He had âzeroâ interest in getting to know her. She only allowed people to see what they thought they may know of her and he thought he could really get to her?
Did she miss him?
âNo.â
What an empty tone. No love there for whatever mystery man from her past. A finger thumbed over her papers she finished organizing & stamping her approval on them before standing up.
âAs interesting as this chit-chat has been Iâm afraid I donât have the time to waste on prattling on the past and you shouldnât either. Thereâs never anything there worth looking back on. Perhaps youâll move forward if you donât linger on frivolous  moments.â
stargaziingâ:
no u
i never been how dare.
Who left this here? Or a better question was who had the gall to come into her office when she wasnât present? They werenât here now and cake that was in a pink box was suspicious. It was best to just sweep it off her desk and into the trash can right? Maybe it wasnât some joke?
Didnât smell like it at least. Testing the waters in taste testing the frosting with her finger had confirmed that it was edible and not tampered with. Poison had a nullfied effects on reapers along with other chemicals.
âTch...they didnât even leave a fork.â
Such an oversight. How was she to eat this without some sort of utensil? She could eat it later when she leaves, of course.
. . .
Maybe just a taste. Just to confirm it was worth even taking with her and not thrown in the trash. Plus, she was alone. So, she would just pick up the slice with one hand. Lips parting open to take so she could take a bite. A flick of her tongue across satin pink lips at the whipped cream. Sweet, yet light. The strawberries in-between? Fresh, and juicy.
Satisfying.
â...this is good~â
Probably doesnât look like it, but Konishi is actually pretty fond of sweets.
Guess that makes her bitter sweet.
777sinâ:
âYa took an awfully long time to reply,â the singer huffed, wiping his face with the sleeve, smearing eyeliner and mascara. His glare was still sharp as a knife, anger and frustration still somehow managing to rise. âWhy so careful witâ yer words?â
What emotions was he even feeling now, beyond anger? He wasnât sad, but it was a similar feeling. Pity. He pitied her. He pitied that she was so far from humane.
âCanât âcha jusâ be honest witâ yerself or nah?â
âYa really are fuckinâ somethinâ else, ainât ya? Goddamn.â The singer pulled out out a cigarette and lighter, making sure to blow the smoke in Konishiâs direction, as if he hasnât empathized his annoyance enough. He knew he wasnât allowed to smoke inside the building, but did he do it anyways? Of course, he was dead already and it didnât matterâ it could set the building on fire and he wouldnât care. Maybe heâs actually be happy if Konishi got caught up in the smoke and flames.
The awkward silence continued, neither side breaking eye contact. 777 wasnât leaving, heâs stick around for as long as he damn well wanted. He wiped some more of the tears residue from his eyes.
âWho was yer partner anyways? I feel sorry for them havinâ tâstick with yer cold self, mustâve sucked fer âem.â
âAnd you ask a lot of prying questions.â
This certain attention upon her was jarring as it was unwanted. She hardly spoke on herself as there was nothing
âItâs an odd question to ask is why I paused as itâs a bit baffling to why you would ask how I felt of it.â
Fear wasnât something she showed or felt. That is quite the blinding weakness for anyone all the more to get rid of such vices. They were worse when you were alive as they held noÂ
There was a soft scoff. Much like everyone that came here a link had to be made willingly with a partner. Her partner.
âYouâre unnecessarily curious about the past. If you happen to figure out who he is maybe heâll entertain you with some stories. Iâm sure heâs alive in the sense heâs not shibuya space dust.â

I like how my muses woke up again because of one person.
Welp.
Very private people have mastered the art of telling you little about themselves but doing it in such a way you think you know a lot.
777sinâ:
âAccident, my fuckinâ ass.â 777 bared his teeth with a snarl. Careful there, your noise form is showing more than usual. âIntentions or not, you, out of all people in the Underground, still broke rules. Even if ya donât intend tâfoul in a game, ya still fuckinâ fouled and Iâm callinâ yer ass out on it.â
Normal people would let grudges go, eventually, and possibly start rebuilding, but normal was nothing that 777 ever was, and it was not something he would ever be. Going against the grain was just who he was. (Besides, ânormalâ people arenât killed by their coworkers. Hopefully, anyways.)
Brows furrowed at the comment of the number, no, his number. Konishiâs voice was filled with mocking sarcasm, and truth be told he didnât know how to process it. For once, he was at a loss of words.
The heartbeat of silence that followed Konishiâs dismissal stung. She probably, definitely, knew she had won, but she was also aware that 777 was as stubborn as a bull. Leave? Fuck that, and fuck you.
âYou donât understand.â The singer took in a sharp breath, hands leaving from where they were on the desk, to balled fists at his sides.
âWhy donât you understand? You were erased too, and yet, you just donât understand!â 777 couldnât hide the cracking of his voice, the defeat and confusion that this whole conversation was making him feel. He was trying hard not to cry, he really was, but tears pricked at the corners of his eyes anyways because they dont follow your schedule. âWerenât you scared? Didnât you feel helpless at all? You are just there, but at the same time you arenât. There is nothing after erasure. Nothing; and you never felt more helpless than you did when you joined the game as a player?!â
âWhy are you so cold?â
It almost seemed that were was a curiously lack of empathy from Konishi for one reason or another. Very few emotions were shown to anyone other than her rather passive default personality of being blunt with neutral emotions. She was going to dismiss his behavior && go about her usual business until he mentioned the so called âafter lifeâ in the end result of erasure. Blue eyes looking at him in silence as she waited for the words to come forth.
âBeing nothing more than a spectator among others. No body of your own, no words and s t r i p p e d of your very imagination if not overall person.â
Another fleck of dust in the midst of souls in Shibuya with no voice. Perhaps some would deem that worse than hell being stuck in such a purgatory state. It was a feeling that was hard to describe and she refused to think helpless was one of them.
Scared?
âNo.I didnât feel anything. Â It just felt as if I was wading in silence. Just nothingness. Â As I died by myself in the RG as I also did within this realm too.
As to why I am âc o l dâ as you say... Does it really matter?â
There was only one that knew why she was the way she was but what did that matter? It surely wasnât going to change. Walls were constantly up with a heavy guard with a frost bitten exterior.
do you hate 777 that much?
âNo.
Yet, he certainly isnât in my favors, since heseems keen on trying to cast the blame of his own erasure on me rather than himself. He makes his own mistakes.
I donât.â
insomniacxtâ:
âAw, yaâre no fun, Koni~ Donâ feel like playân a game wiâh me? What bytes? I thoughâ ya loved hide ân seek!â
The other officer peered out of his hiding spot, slowly peeling himself away and walking into the light of the hall. It wasnât like Raekai was actually trying to hide; afterall, it was just an empty hall with the only âhidingâ place being around the corners.
âGame weekâs goân tâstarâ soon, yea? Ya preparinâ for iâ or somethân, or are ya jusâ takân a leisurely walk?â
Hmph. Him.
Why was she surrounded by people like this? Even with him revealing himself to just be a fellow reaper it didnât make her drop her guard any less.
âIâm so sure you enjoy playing such reaper sports, but do so on your own time and not mine. Donât speak so familiar with my name. You and Minamimoto certainly share the about the same mannerisms. I always make sure to prepare more than a week ahead of time when the game refreshes.â
Was it so hard to address one properly? She did so with others.
Also, why wouldnât she? Especially over viewing last game stats and making any necessary changes if need be. The week goes by much more smoothly.

777sinâ:
âIâm not going to say Im playing innocent here, Mitsuki, I know fer a fuckinâ fact that I Erased players and that I donât mind doinâ it, but I donât always want to. Sometimes, its nice to have one less set of teeth after ya when yer already tryinâ yer damnest to complete the daily mission.â 777 let out a snarl, slamming his hands into the desk of his superior, a couple of papers flying upwards from the impact. âIf I can help, then Iâm going to fuckinâ help. Players are one thing, I can Erase Players with ease, but Iâm going to do the absolute bare minimum âcuz Iâm lazy and Players deserve more of a chance! But Reapers? reapers arenât supposed tâbe Erased like I was, itâs against thârules! Ya shouldnât even have yer job still!â
âYou can take yer mannerisms and shove them up your goddamn asshole!â 777 spat, baring his teeth, black nails digging into the desk in front of him. âI ainât fuckinâ done speakinâ witâ ya, so I ainât fuckinâ leavinâ! Ya understand that or are ya too daft to listen tâanyone whoâs seen as a little â inferior â tâya!
My name is Triple Seven, and thatâs what ya should fuckinâ call me by, not some name thatâs just as dead as I am!â
âI canât say I truly expected much from you.
What happened to you was certainly an unfortunate accident that you walked into my trap set for those players. Hardly against the rules since I had no intentions against a reaper.
Perhaps, if you would do more than just the bare minimum and not have meddled with being quite chummy with players perhaps you wouldnât have d i e d again.
777 such a lucky number for you isnât it?â
Lips merely quirked up into a ghost of a smile at his words. Actually, there was a stifled laugh that came as she didnât even attempt to cover her mild amusement. So abrasive and quick tempered. A shame he didnât stay just a spec of shibuya dust among the other souls.
âI
said we were done here. As entertaining as it is to hear you screech at me some of us do have to do more than just whatâs required to just skirt by. Be it life or death. You know where the door is, mm?â
Blue eyes then cast themselves downward to the papers on her desk. Showing how little interest she had in caring on this little farce of a conversation.
