“Come on your stupid bird! Give it back!” Luffy shouted, rubber limbs flailing at a seagull which has his prized straw-hat in his beak. Finally grabbing the tail-feathers of it, he pried the beaks open till the hat dropped out to which he than threw the seagull into the ocean near-by. “Good riddance! You probably didn’t even have that much meat in you anyway!” he shouted before turning back to his hat.

“Well, at least I got Shank’s hat back!” He spoke aloud, before seeing something inside it. 

“Eh? What’s this?” he questioned, pulling out a flyer, which read;

“What is this paper blabbering about with dimensions?” Luffy paused, before thinking about it.

“Let’s see...considering that ‘Possibilities are unlimited’, it could be more lands to explore, which could be...” suddenly, he stopped before getting excited.

“GOLD RODGER’S TREASURE COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THERE AS WELL!” Luffy declared, before hopping towards his boat’s sail, raising it up. “More lands means more fun! Gold Rodger, I’m coming for you!” Now, just WHERE was that address located at? Well, if he just goes in 1 direction, he should be able to find it...

Upon being stopped, he than looked over to where Luigi pointed and he saw the gloomy hill. “Whoa, it IS pretty dark looking…” he spoke, before giving off a huge grin.

"I BET THAT FOG IS HIDING SOMETHING AMAZING!" he shouted, before Luigi informed him of the fact that is may be a long trek.

"Heh, don’t fret! I may have a idea that can help us! Just hold onto me!" he declared, looking at a castle arch. A gum-gum rocket could send them flying with ease! And upon hearing of the troops moving down the hill, it just made him more eager to get over there. "Well what are we waiting for?!?" he asked with eagerness, wanting to go over there as soon as possible.

Luigi stepped back a little, just wondering how that was even going to help. “H-Hold onto you?” He questioned. At the rate of Bowser’s troops closing in for the attack, Luigi wanted to hold onto someone quick! Luffy seemed pretty confident on this one, however, so the plumber supposed he’d trust him for now.

Ulp, hopefully he wouldn’t regret this!

Luigi awkwardly tried to find a place to latch himself onto, and waited for the cue to be made. Those Koopatrols weren’t exactly in the mood for games, and he himself wasn’t in the mood for playing with them either!

"Alright, let’s-a go!"

"I-I guess… "

Alright! Time to go meet the welcome party! Swinging his arms around a bit, he launched them towards the arch, than grabbed onto it as he stepped backwards, arms stretching out further and further, until...

"Gum gum...ROCKET!" Luffy shouted, jumping up, arms snapping him back, causing him to rocket towards the troop, coming closer and closer with them...

Until they literally fell RIGHT on top of them, knocking a couple of the troops out, but putting them in the middle of the mix.

"Well, that was speedy, like Luigi?" he asked, crooking his head and neck around to see if Luigi was ok, while the troop was too shocked to do anything yet.

An amused yet genuine smile escaped his lips; being called a friend is one of the most valued things Luigi can have, even if they just met a few minutes ago. However, there wasn’t anytime to keep dwelling on that as as saw his new found colleague march on ahead.

"W-Wait, Mr. Luffy!"

"Bowser’s castle is that way!” Upon leaving the castle doors, Luigi would point towards the horizon where a series of mountains were aligned. If they squinted just enough, an ominous fortress loomed far, far away. There was a mist that obscured it from fully being seen, though. “It’ll be a long trek, so maybe we can find something to get there quickly? Let’s go to my house first and-… “

"…!" Luigi couldn’t finish his sentence when, right from over the hill, a group of Koopatrols began marching their way downwards and presumably in their direction. Talk about good timing when King Koopa was the center of topic!

"W-… watch out, it’s Bowser’s troops!”

"Yeah, I’ll say! You would make for one DURABLE bodyguard!" he responded, before answering his question. "It’s a devil fruit! There are many kinds of them, and the one I ate made me…"

"A RUBBER MAN!" he proudly declared, stretching his mouth. "Problem is, devil fruit users can’t swim, period!" he further explained. Thankfully, devil fruits is one of the 3 areas Luffys knows a lot about. The other 2 are fighting and meat.

*Devil fruits.. Definetely somthing Darren has never heard of.. The moo thought for a bit if he ate one.. All he ate today were mostly apples.. definetely nothing out of the ordinary. Once Luffy shows off his stretching ability, the moo staggered backwards in amazement.*

"A rubber man?! That’s incredible!!!"

*Then the moo heard the devil fruit’s downside.. That caused him to let off a sheepish chuckle*

"Heheheh.. Join the club, I can’t swim either.."

*The moo smiled up at the Strawhat Pirate, maybe now’s a good time for introductions.*

"Anyways, my name’s Darren! Who might you be?"

"Heh, thanks! I been getting that recently when people see me...That, or just frozen stares, haha!" he laughed, before hearing him.

"Name's Monkey D. Luffy. Just call me Luffy! I'm going to be the king of the pirates!" he declared, before asking him something. "Can you do anything else besides stretching your ears?" he asked. Who knows? This could lead to him finding another devil fruit user...

"Pretty much, yeah! Don’t see many other ways how ta’ fix it with ease!" he responded before turning back to see Luigi’s surprised face. Ah, sometimes, seeing people react to his gum-gum fruit ability is quite funny…

"Oh, ha ha, that! Well you see…" he than let go of Luigi, as his arm zoomed back into place.

"I’m a…RUBBER MAN!" he cheerfully exclaimed as he pulled on his face before letting go and having it move back into place quickly. "I ate this mysterious fruit when I was a kid which granted me this awesome power! The problem is that I can’t swim because of it, but still, I will become the pirate king, even if I can never swim!" he proudly stated.

"This is-a the first time I’ve met some who’s made of, well… rubber. T-Technically speaking, of course!" Luigi tilted his head, a bit amused at the visitor’s quirky traits plus quirky attitude. "Actually, I don’t think many people like you exist out there, at least I never heard of this so-called fruit."

"Guess that’s how you made it out of the storm unscathed, eh?" A chuckle followed. The nearby Toads would creep from their hiding spot to be mesmerized by Luffy’s bizarre ability. The ideas they formed were by the billions, to say the least.

"A-Anyway, facing him is a pretty bold move. He’s got an army of turtles and everything!” Luigi wouldn’t want a newcomer to the Mushroom Kingdom getting a fistful of Bowser so prematurely! But, then again…

"Hmm, I s’pose doing a checkup of the kingdom doesn’t sound too bad either; it’s been a long time since I’ve actually seen the Koopa Clan."

"Yeah, it's a extremely rare fruit! Not that many have it!" he explained, before seeing the toads come out.

"Yeah, being rubber, I can survive whatever I want to survive to say the least!" he proudly gloated, forgetting that being sliced open, harmed by elements, drowning, and powerful attacks that come in contact with him are things that can hurt or even kill him.

"Well, you ARE my friend, and my friend is having trouble with someone, so that only means that we must stop it! It's that simple..." Luffy returned, before hearing him agree, even if it's a little bit.

"ALRIGHT! LET'S GO!" He declared...only to go run in the opposite direction of where the turtle tyrant's place is...

"WOW! You really ARE durable! Did you eat a gum-gum fruit to?!?" he asked, before seeing him stretch his ears upward, and have him fling upwards towards the tree…only to fling back down.

"SWEET! You MUST have eaten a gum-gum fruit!" he spoke with glee as he went over to where he fell, seemingly forgetting about the pirates that bested him for the moment.

*The moo rubbed the back of his head. What’s Gum-gum fruit?.. He thought after letting off a soft sheepish chuckle*

"Hehehehe.. My stretchy ears are a born ability of mine.. Oh yeah, I guess I can take quite a lot of damage"

*Darren said with a bit of a grin on his face, which then turned into a questionable look*

"What is Gum-gum fruit?…"

Mario’s blue iris’ focused on this unusual male while he tried to recall anytime he may have seen this male prior to this meeting and……no, he couldn’t remember anything. Silently the male shook his head.

" Mm-mm!"

  "Ohh, noooo. I’m a plumber, I could not-a be a pirate! Besides, the kingdom needs-a me."

Mario reasoned with a shy smile. This person before him, Luffy, didn’t seem that mean…..He had a simply objective: find treasure! That wasn’t so evil or mischievous.

"Ah come on! I know toilet’s are important, but how can a plumber be that important to a kingdom?!?" Luffy asked, unaware of how highly Mario is loved here. Actually, that’s a good thing, for if Luffy knew of Mario’s importance, he would make a final decision to make him a straw-hat pirate!

Mario said with a hint of confidence. He seemed to take pride in the fact that he was a heroic plumber of sorts. It felt good being a hero.

" I protect-a this kingdom as good as I-a can!"

Upon hearing that, Luffy looked at Mario, as if it was a exam...

"Really? How do you do that if you are just a plumber?" he asked, showing genuine curiosity in his voice.

"The king of pirates huh?.."

He than looked at the creature to see if he had any big bruises…and he didn’t find any.

"Yeah, ya’ REALLY helped my fall! Thanks! You’re a great pillow!" he responded, before answering him.

"Eh, I just got tossed outta’ a fight with a couple pirates cross sea. They launched me over here…" he than looked up to the tallest tree he could find.

"Hmm, lemme see if I can find them again ta’ settle da’ score!" he spoke, before launching his hand up to the tree’s highest branch.

"Gum gum…ROCKET!" he shouted, before he retracted himself to meet with his hand, body launching straight up towards the treetop…

And above that…

and going higher…

and higher…

till he eventually fell back down, ironically onto the poor moo…

"Uh…sorry…again…" he spoke, helping him back up…

*Pirates? there were pirates lurking around somewhere? It was amazing to the moo how the boy didn’t look even beaten if he was launched over to this island.

Then the moo witnessed the power of the Gum-gum fruit he possesses. as Luffy was launched to retract with his arms*

“He can stretch!?”

*The moo was left speechless as he watched… Untill he was landed on again. As the boy picked up the moo out of the sand, there were still no bruises. Looks like this creature could take a lot of damage! The moo shook the dizziness off once again before letting off a chuckle*

"Nyahahahaha!!.. It’s alright.. Really!.. Hmm… You said you were looking for pirates right?…"

"Maybe I can help you with that!"

*And now it was the moo’s turn to display his ability, his long rope-like ears lifts up, quickly stretching them to the treetop Luffy had tried to get up on, once his ears coiled around the top of the tree, he launched himself to that tree, sticking to it with a firm cling…

Only for him to lose grip once he unwrapped his ears arounf the tree…*

"NYAAAA!!"

*The moo tumbled, his fall being cushioned by the sand, becoming half buried in the sand, head first, his little feet wriggled before he placed his hands into the sand, pushing himself out*

"Gya.. Okay.. I may be a bit rusty with climbing trees like that.."

"WOW! You really ARE durable! Did you eat a gum-gum fruit to?!?" he asked, before seeing him stretch his ears upward, and have him fling upwards towards the tree...only to fling back down.

"Don’t think you have much word to say otherwise! Nice to meet ya’ Luigi!" he responded with a chuckle before hearing about the menacing turtle…

"Wow…he sounds very impressive, but also very mean…there’s only one thing to do about him…" he spoke, before grabbing Luigi’s arm.

"We’re just going ta’ have to go over there and tell him ta’ stop ourselves! Than who knows, he may want ta’ be a pirate with me!" he declared, marching forward, thinking he is dragging Luigi along with him, but however he is just expanding his arm he is using to hold onto Luigi.

"You mean, p-pay him a visit?” Luigi’s eyes widened at the pirate’s proposition. This guy sure had a lot of admirable determination, huh? For one thing, despite Bowser’s constant show of, well… foolhardiness, he was still a public menace, and someone to fear at that.

Before he could say another word, though, Luigi noticed that Luffy’s arm began to stretch like elastic when the latter attempted to drag him for the ride. His jaw slowly began to drop as he continued witnessing such an uncanny spectacle.

"U-… uh, sir? I don’t mean to be rude or anything, but… "

"What’s-a happening to your arm!?"

"But they don’t matter that much! The REAL treasure I wanna search for is Gold Rodger’s legendary treasure, the ‘One Piece!’" Luffy added. "Why ya’ askin’? Wanna’ be a pirate too?!? I need to start a crew!" he offered.

"Yeah! I was sucked into a whirlpool once before, and now, I got here be being flung out of a hurricane!" he proudly repeated, before hearing of the princess

"Really?!? She DOES sound generous!" he spoke. "Well, whenever or not that is true, I have to at least repay for that somehow!" he suggested, before hearing the plumber’s question.

"Yeah! I’m Monkey D. Luffy, the kid who’s gonna be the pirate king by getting Gold Rodger’s Treasure!" he declared with pride in his eyes. "Relax, I don’t just go around raiding anyone I feel like! Just other pirates and treasure hunting!" he explained.

"And really? She gets damages here on a basis?" he asked.

Luigi breathed a sigh of relief, glad to know that he himself wasn’t a pirate and did not intend on being one anytime soon! Otherwise that would have made him a viable target than he already was. Imagine that, huh?

"H-Hehe, I’ll take your-a word for it, Mr. Luffy."

"Nice to meetcha’, I s’pose! Ah, you can just call me Luigi." He tipped his hat, almost forgetting to introduce himself in turn. Monkey, what a peculiar name, though. Upon hearing the next question, he simply nodded as if it weren’t any surprise. Lo and behold, it really wasn’t a surprise.

"It’s-a long story. To put it simply, the castle’s subject to a few raids of its own. There’s a monstrous turtle who lives on the opposite side of the kingdom who’s always trying to kidnap the princess. He’s crashed through doors, windows, ceiling, you name it!" Luigi shook his head, considering that he could honestly ramble on about all of Bowser’s spectacles.

"He’s lifted the castle from the ground up one time… "

…and than, everything changed when the gum-gum fruit user, Monkey D. Luffy, fell out of the tree and on top of him. He had a couple of bruises, but nothing serious. He just got out of a fight when pirates decided to use his abilities against him, launching him into the tree.

"GRR! I’LL SHOW THEM!" He declared, slamming his fists down in a angry gesture…

Till he felt something…

Immediately getting up, he than faced the thing whom he accidentally fall on top of…

"Uh…sorry…" he spoke.

"Gyaaaaaa…."

*The moo slowly sat up after he (probably) broken the lad’s fall, shaking it off till his dizziness went away, jumping to his feet as he dusted the sand off himself. Turning his attention to the Strawhat Pirate*

"Heheheh, it’s okay! I’ve had worse than that"

*The moo took note of the boy’s bruises, looks like he’s been in some kind of fight.. But it definetely didn’t look bad enough to worry about.*

"Anyway, what brings ya here? Kinda rare that I had someone fall on me. I hope I cushioned your landing a little."

*Sun, sea and sand, the empty seaside was pretty much a rather wonderful spot for the moo to just kick back relax and not have a worry in the world. The moo was pretty much just laying by a tree to get the nice cool feeling from the shade, where he had ended up falling asleep*

He essentially got the ENTIRE WORLD too bow down too him, and he hid it in a far-away place that no one knows about before he kicked the can! And now, when I find it, I will be hailed as the next pirate king!" he declared, certain that he will find it first.

"Ah I see, quite a goal you have set up for yourself." The madman replied as he thought about the information that has been given, this pirate king sounded like the kind of guy Cortex could work with had he not died. Perhaps this treasure would be the answer to domination of this world and with Cortex’s resources shouldn’t prove to be too difficult, all he needed to know was where to start. "I imagine you know where to find this treasure?"

"NOPE! NOT A CLUE! The closest thing we have to where it is at is the fact it's behind 'The Grand Line', and I don't even know WHERE to get to that from here!" Luffy cheerfully answered, although knowing that his quest will be eons more difficult without a navigator, he would still do it anyway. "And besides, I need a crew of 10 first before I head out there!" he explained.

"Well, THAT explains everything!" Luffy sincerely said. He DOES have no real reason to trust him, just meeting him, but he also has no reason to distrust him. Truthfully, he just didn’t want his brain to shut down again.

"Well, I’m whatever-the-situation-call-for-pirate! I am just a pirate who either looks for treasure, especially Gold Rodger’s, or other pirate ships too raid!"

"Those, or jerks who proved to me that they don’t deserve their wealth," he explained.

Mario let off a sigh of relief while wiping sweat from his head.

He then focused back on the male at hand. Now this raised the question: why was he here?

" What-a brings you here? Do you know why you are-a here?"

Mario spoke with a tone that seemed to indicate he was just….rolling with this entire thing. Almost like he liked it.
