Amends (An Unexpected Result)
This takes place after 268 but before the White Day side-chapter.Ā
This responds, technically, to theĀ āwrongā prompt from KyokoRen week 2018 because I want to catch up before this yearās week! ^_^;
āIām back!ā I announced as I peeked in through the kitchenās back exit. Though it was late and there were very few diners left inside, Iāve preferred the back exit since Yashiro-san started accompanying me. It was embarrassing to be escorted, though I supposed it didnāt matter anymore. In a few days, I would go back to having no manager. After all, Tsuruga-san was back from filming Tragic Marker and there was no reason for him to continue playing my manager.
I almost felt like mourning the situation; I wished it didnāt have to happen like this. The most Iād spoken to him since the argument with Tsuruga-san was to ensure that, yes, I could bike and bus my way between jobs just like I used to. Thoughā¦I did have to admit that I was certainly out of practice with my biking and my legs hurt a lot more than they usually do after a full day at work. Actually, the sensation was akin to when I was getting used to Natsuās heels. Justā¦.a bit less painful.
The Okami met me and gave me a secretive grin. My stomach dropped. Iād grown to strongly dislike that look. It was usually accompanied by some stupid news about Sho or, worse, news that he was waiting for me in the private room. Luckily he had left the country so the latter couldnāt be true. My nerves were on edge, regardless. What does the idiot have to say this time? Get mad at me for āstealingā his ring or something? āKyoko-chan,ā She sing-songed. āYou have a guest waiting for you. I put him in the private dining room.ā
āThank you, Okami-san.ā Flinching, I scrunched my nose. Did I get Shoās departure date wrong? Even if I didāI couldnāt find a reason for him to show up here. He already picked up his stupid gourd. āIāll go there immediately.ā
She smiled sweetly and waved at me as I walked stiffly through the kitchen, gripping my bag with white knuckles. The attention she paid me instantly more suspicious. Whoās behind that stupid door?
I braced myself for the worst and slid the door open. I dropped my bag and nearly fell to my knees. There was no way I was seeing what I was seeing. I pinched my arm hard enough to bring tears to my eyes and tried to blink the image away. But he was still there.
Ren Tsuruga, the man I just spent the past day and a half trying to avoid.
Doing a dogeza at my feet.
