Agreed? Agreed. :)
hey im really into your blog and sorry if im bothering you but I thought you’d like to know about this really underrated fundraiser i found and i think it needs a lot more attention https://www.crowdrise.com/helpendfemalegenital/fundraiser/maracastillo again sorry if im bothering you but it would be really cool if you helped spread the word about this thank you!
Hey thank you for writing here!
Will share this for sure. :)
So if you don’t treat everyone equally, you can’t complain about, for example, abuse? Let’s say someone doesn’t expect someone else to be able to lift a heavy bag because they’re physically really small and suddenly the person can’t complain about the fact that their parents sexually abuse them? To me, that sounds an awful lot like “Until you treat everyone as an equal, you deserve whatever treatment you get.”
Firstly, I don’t understand how “lifting a heavy bag” is related to being “sexually abuse(d)” by parents.
Secondly, the quote was about treating everyone with respect as an action on your part and not as a reaction to some other action (like in your example, being sexually abused, because that just does not make sense).
Try not to twist the messages and their meanings. That’s just as poisonous as spreading hate in the world for no reason.
Just today tumblr suggested me your blog, I was skeptical at first, bc lot's of "equality" blogs go all "why say feminism when equalitarian is more inclusive" then I read some of your posts and asks, and you're blog is awesome, you're awesome, I'm just really happy #followforever ^3^
Hi thesassynessthatisbatman!
Let me begin with the series of reasons why I already love you. First being: that amazing floral crown on Batman! That’s as sassy and as classy as it can get.
Secondly, I love the fact that you are cynical. Shows that you’re an opinionated person and you do things that you truly believe in what you do.
Lastly, the fact that you love what I passionately started on Tumblr, especially knowing that you have your own set of opinions.
I’m humbled, and just so, so happy to have you in this mission to have every treated with respect regardless of their gender (among many other discriminatory factors).
So, thank you.
xx
I noticed you used the word "transgenders" as a way to include people who fall outside of the gender binary. I think the term non-binary or gender queer is a more accepted way to refer to people outside of the binary.
@sunhypeThank you so much! I have learnt something new today about a movement I feel deeply about. Thank you. :)
Are you a feminist?
Hi glamour-is-a-state-of-mind!
Yes, I am.
Apart from supporting other social causes like Gender Equality, LGBT social movements, Human Rights, etc. that basically propagates respecting individuals on the basis of being human and celebrating the spirit of humanity.
#SayNoToDiscrimination
Its definitely my only problem with feminism... Other than feminist extremists. I don't want to change the world, I just want to make it better. Gender equalism please.
Hi idk-maybe-possibly-perhaps!
First of all, let me just consolidate all of your asks into this one answer, so it’ll be easier for me to answer your ask easily.
“Apologies if my following asks are too strongly worded but I agree with your idea and this is my most recent argument in favour…
FEMINISM AS A WORD DEFIES THE POINT OF THE ACTION To be a feminist means to support gender equality? Fuck no, that is a stupid naming system and it created it’s own stigma because of the way it is named.
Because to support gender equality, you should be a “gender equalist” or “humanist”. Not a bloody feminist. By definition I would identify as a feminist, but the name is EXACTLY why I do not.
I severely disagree with this and this is why feminists and feminism gain no respect from me if they identify as such because the name itself takes away from the cause and I think that is the world’s biggest problem with the feminist movement…
Its definitely my only problem with feminism… Other than feminist extremists. I don’t want to change the world, I just want to make it better. Gender equalism please.”
Now, to the answer.
I sense a lot of hatred from you towards the term “Feminism” and what it has because of extreme misandrists who call themselves feminists.
I suppose it is alright to be mad at them for making “feminism” a social stigma, since that was not the reason why it came into being. Feminism came into being to propagate a revolutionary movement where women would be treated equally like their male counter-parts where they would get equal paying jobs, they would vote for their own rights, etc. (Google has wayyy more information on the subject than I do.)
But it’s the 21st century now and the world is yet to see the day where women get treated in this fair and equal manner.
What I ask of you, in return of raising this very important issue of men being generalised as misogynists (which isn’t true because misogyny cannot to be tagged one single gender), is to continue believing the Gender Equality for all men, women and transgenders.
Respect should be given to respectful individuals, not just a gender.
That is Gender Equality.
So the true spirit of Feminism, is a part of Gender Equality. It’s the feeling and the sentiment behind the word, not the word itself. Granted, the movement has been used unfairly by some, but why blame the innocent party for what the guilty have done?
Peace.
I'm a pansexual non-binary (Agender) ^.^ I'm glad there are blogs like yours that promote equality :3 <3
I'm so very glad to have received your message. Saw it first thing this morning, and it made my day! Nothing tops this... Cheers to you! Cheers to equality! Cheers to humanity!
why are you an equalist?
I’m a Gender Equalist because I think as a human being, everyone should have the right to choose the way they want to lead their lives. Be it men, women or transgenders. I have the same amount of love for men, women and transgenders. I have the same amount of respect for the way they choose to lead their lives, and that’s how this blog came into existence. It’s THEIR lives. Why does anyone else get to make any decision for them?
The moment someone is refused to make a decision for their lives, it shows blatant disrespect for the freedom of choice that everyone has as a human being. Because you’re indirectly saying that they aren’t smart enough to make their own decision. That they aren’t capable of being independent. That they don’t have the courage to make decisions and live with the consequences.
I believe in empowering humanity. I believe in empowering them all so that they reach their true potential as an educated, respectful global citizen of the world. And that will happen when everyone gets their education. That will happen when everyone learns that firms, companies, countries are not ruled because of gender or faith (those are personal choices).
Talent matters. Not gender. Meritocracy is what the world needs to improve itself. And that comes when everyone believes in Gender Equality.
And that’s why I spread this message, hoping that perhaps, one day, the world will become a loving home for everyone, and not a hostile, hateful place.
