Yesterday was your due date Miss Ari, and look how far we’ve come! You’re gaining weight like a champ, already up to 5lbs 15oz. SHE’S HERE! 🥰 Aaria Marguerite Moldán, born at 3:15pm on 03/13/19. Miss Ari joins us two weeks early after it was determined Mum’s health posed a flight risk for baby. Initially, nurses had her weighing in at a scrappy 5lbs 3oz and 19 inches, but after multiple objections from my OB (who repeatedly insisted, “there’s no way that baby is that tiny”), she was reweighed 24 hours later and determined was likely just under 6lbs at birth. Labor was 23 hours of the most intense physical, mental and emotional journey of my life, and I couldn’t have done it without Anton — or my kickass doula. We are all home now, healthy and happy, resting comfortably and getting to know each other. I’m completely in love and feeling 1000 times better than I ever could have hoped for. Thank you all for the prayers and well wishes. 7 months pregnant tromping around Vanuatu with Anton! 🙌🏽 Last night we explored these insane abandoned hotel ruins that were once featured in Architectural Digest. I don’t know who the developer is, but they spent millions and then abruptly walked away from the project. True beauty in the aftermath! I’ve been very shy about “announcing” my pregnancy - partially because I spent the first trimester violently ill, and then spent the second feeling extremely out of sorts (read: scared, exhausted, depressed). I don’t know if it’s being on vacation, hitting the third trimester or realizing I’m oddly ok with the 25 pounds I’ve gained, but I feel like I’m finally (finally!) starting to get excited about this baby. I can see some light at the end of the tunnel and it feels good! I think it helps that I can feel Buby kicking and fist pumping regularly now, and even Anton has been able to see and feel her move. Despite everything I’ve struggled with, the doctors say baby is strong and healthy, and, ultimately, I’m having a great pregnancy. I’m finally feeling hopeful and optimistic, and I think that’s all anyone can ask for at this point. 💛 p.s. to all my ladies: I IMPLEMENTED FIRST TRIMESTER PUSH PRESENTS AND YOU SHOULD TOO. If your first 4 months was anything like mine, you at least deserve a plushy new bathroom mat, or maybe one of those nice Simple Human trash cans. Don’t be afraid to ASK FOR IT ALL LADIES.
