Ten years after the fire, Bill and Lupe reunited unexpectedly at a movie theater where, by coincidence, went to see the same movie. They caught up with each other and poked fun at the stuff they used to do as a couple when they were teens — despite the mess they constantly got themselves in, including the incident with Joe’s shop. They eventually started to see each other more, getting closer as they hung out. Which lead to them getting back together as romantic partners. (worst decision they’ve ever made) Both Bill and Lupe never planned on moving in, not until Bill’s mother kicked him out of the house once she found out he finally had a girlfriend after ten years — in hopes that he’d live with Lupe instead. Lupe was *not* happy that she had a sopping wet Bill at her front door, knowing that his mom just wanted to make him *her* problem to take care of now. She was hesitant to welcome him in her home, but she let him in anyway. They end up having an unplanned baby, finding out way too late that they couldn’t get an abortion. They both were disappointed, Bill especially, as it meant he actually had a responsibility. He considered leaving Lupe to take care of their baby herself until realizing that he’d have nowhere else to live, knowing his mom wouldn’t welcome him back in her house with open arms. So he stayed. Lupe and Bill do not get married, despite them living together and also having a kid. Lupe knows not to get herself tangled in a mess like that, and Bill just wouldn’t have the commitment to do such a thing. All in all, they do live a decent life together. They both learn how to be parents together — one a bit better than the other — and love (?) each other in their own way.
