An exclusive Interview by: Mindy Parker
If you could play any character in any movie or show, which one would it be and why?
I would love to play some sort of superhero, because Iāve been a fan of Marvel and DC. Captain Marvel is my favorite movie, and getting a role like that would be a dream!
What's your favorite way to describe exactly what it is that you do?Ā
Thatās a tough question that iāve never thought about! On top of acting and writing, the whole Instagram side of things just gives me an outlet to so many incredible people who are constantly supporting me. I try my best to advocate for the things I care about with the platform Iām lucky enough to have.
Do you feel like you get to live like a "normal teenager"? And what's your favorite "normal teenager" thing to do?Ā
I definitely feel like a normal teenager, the only difference is being wary of whatās on my Instagram and having the power to influence kids my age! My friends and I love to bike around the neighborhood and have picnics because itās just peaceful and reminds us of how beautiful our reality is!
What are the most challenging parts of your lifestyle?
Itās challenging dealing with the hate comments, because even though I know theyāre being typed by insecure people who need to hate on others to feel better, they still sometimes get to us. But like I said, being secure in yourself and reminding yourself that youāre good enough is the best way to combat the negativity.
How do you maneuver your own journey with self-love, personal insecurities and body positivity, being such a big presence on social media?Ā
It is definitely challenging for all teenagers on social media to completely love themselves because weāre all constantly looking for validation from others on social media. Iāve had to learn that me loving myself was the most important thing, and being completely grounded in knowing who I am. Once youāve got that figured out, the hate comments and trolls donāt mean anything. We all have bad days, but most are good!
What message do you feel is important to share with all the fellow teen girls who follow you?Ā
I think itās important to show that nobodies life is perfect, even though it looks like it on social media. I try my best to talk about things like sexuality, anxiety, and things normal kids go through and deal with in their teenager years. Itās hard to be vulnerable on social, but it definitely helps to connect to fans and I want them to know that Iām always here for them.
What do you love most about being involved with the Digital Network BRAT?Ā
Iāve gotten to meet some amazing people who are now my best friends. And on top of that, my character has grown in so many different ways and Iām lucky enough to play such a complex girl!
