Everyone hustles his life along, and is troubled by a longing for the future and weariness of the present. But the man who ⦠organizes every day as though it were his last, neither longs for nor fears the next day⦠Nothing can be taken from this life, and you can only add to it as if giving to a man who is already full and satisfied food which he does not want but can hold. So you must not think a man has lived long because he has white hair and wrinkles: he has not lived long, just existed long. For suppose you should think that a man had had a long voyage who had been caught in a raging storm as he left harbor, and carried hither and thither and driven round and round in a circle by the rage of opposing winds? He did not have a long voyage, just a long tossing about.

Today was a big purge
I needed to get a head start on the weekend. As a result, I got rid of stuff for days: 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15. Thatās 84 things in total for these 7 days, bringing my total up to 120. Thatās kind of crazy if you think about it. Iām definitely starting to feel the squeeze a bit now. When I get back next week Iām going to have to get rid of 16 things. Thatās a lot, no matter how you consider it. Iām looking forward to it though. Iām feeling like things are clearing up but I will definitely reach a point where I think that enough is a enough. Iāll probably regret some of my choices later on. I can live with myself for that, though.
Peace.Ā
Day 15: this block of knives. Yes, I included the holders as things because Iām pretty sure that when I first bought them this was determined to be aĀ ā15 piece knife setā or whatever. I donāt currently need this many knives. When I do eventually need some knives, I will either use the two camping knives that I own or invest in one or two good ones.Ā
Day 14: kitchen stuff! Look At all of this plastic. I really donāt need it.
Day 13: as the label suggests, Iām getting rid of these law books + stuff. Theyāre mostly notes and binders from conferences (studying areas of law that Iām no longer immediately a part of)Ā and day planners and other junk I donāt really need. Thatās my jam: getting rid of junk I donāt really need.
Day 11, 12: miscellaneous stuff (some of which is not pictured). A few kitchen things (seen above), a bag, a piece of art, 3 books, 2 magazines, a burnt CD, 3 books, ironing board, 2 other art things, a foam roller, 3 more pens (!!!).
Day 8, 9, 10:
Pens. Bloody damn, pens. A few years back I resolved to only use these pens. I ordered a bunch through a previous employer. No one else wanted them when I was departing so I took them with me. I took them with my several times. Since that time, Iāve discovered a new type of pen that I prefer, and Iām much happier with it. The hockey puck was used as part of an art project that has came and went. I have no reason for keeping it.
