A ghost. An old, abandoned house. A town as hostile as it is familiar.
Avery Beale returns to his hometown of Opal Gully, broke, and in need of a place to stay. With a brother twice as tall as he remembers and parents that insist on making his life as uncomfortable as possible, he can't wait to save some money and get back to the city.
Then the dreams start, and he finds himself drawn to the run-down house that has haunted him for years. Getting to know a ghost and solving a 130 year old mystery hadn't been on his to-do that, but that fades to the background; the secrets they begin to unravel reveal a history far darker than he could ever have imagined.
