Nevermind...
I need more color blind Al Capone, please God tell me you can deliver my friend??
Itâs like, 6am, I havenât slept. This blog has been dead for months and I only saw this because this is a side blog to my main blog but yeah. Okay.
Have a soulmate AU because this is what my sleep deprived mind thought of.
Growing up, Al had heard everyone from the pointless adults to his fellow kids talk about soulmates. It was a concept that was drilled in your head practically from birth, the fact that one day you were going to meet your soulmate and once you did the world would burst into color.
To be honest, Al always thought it was a stupid concept. Making eye contact with someone made colors magically appear? It was ridiculous! Not to mention how many people gushed about the idea of it, daydreaming about the person that wouldâchange their entire world.â
Disguesting.
However, his thoughts on soulmates changed when he was thirteen.
âItâs an extremely rare condition,â the doctor his parents had dragged him off to explained, âMost conditions of actual color blindness do allow a person to see most colors, but your son seems to have whatâs known as Monochromancy. Heâs unable to see any color much like those who have yet to meet their soulmates, but soulmate or not heâll never see color.â
And just like that Alâs annoyance with the obsession over soulmates shifted to something akin to jealousy. He began to grow to hate the subject, knowing that these colors that people had been hyping up his entire life were something he would never get to experiance.
The years passed on, and soon he was in High School. On a day he had actually bothered to show up, he was sitting in the lunch hall with two of his friends. Kahmunrah, a senior whose home life was honestly, not the best. Seeing as his parents practically worshipped the ground his little brother walked on while they treated him like something they had stepped on at the dog park. And the other being Amelia, who was a sophomore just like him, and a bit of a daredevil. They were waiting for Ivan, another senior, who had unfortunately been cursed with having to show some new foreign student around. Al did not envy him.
âAh, there you are!â
Unnecessarily waving towards them, Ivan headed over to their table with some short kid who was apparently trying to make up said shortness with his hair length trailing after him.
âI vould like to introduce you all to lilâ Nippy!â
The boy winced, cracking a glare towards Ivan. âItâs Napoleon.â
âGesundheit.â Al offered, smirking. At least Ivan has been stuck with some kid who would be fun to mess with.
Nippyâs eyes met his with a glare, before they widened. âY-You...â His mouth gaped like a fish, his knuckles turning pure white around the strap of his bag.
âAre you alright, Kid?â Amelia asked, though Al was pretty sure Ivan mentioned the new kid was supposed to be a Junior the other day.
âDonât you see them too?â The boy questioned instead of answered, his eyes not leaving Al. As if he was trying to memorize the sight of him. (The weirdo.)
âSee what?â
Nippyâs face dropped instantly, his eyes shining as his mout breathed out a barely audible âOh...â Before he turned away and ran.
âAlvin what did you do?â Ivan demanded, about as shocked as everyone else at the table was at the random turn of events.
âYou just saw what happened!â Al reminded him, a bit annoyed that he was automatically at fault. Especially since it was the new kid that was acting strange, running off because apparently Al didnât see...
Didnât...
Oh.
Oh.

âThe Foreign Exchange Programâ
Napoleon shook his head, âI know nothing about this country. It would not be wise to have me decide.â
âItâs getting kinda late,â Al noted, âWe could go grab a bite. Thereâs a really good Italian place not too far from here.âÂ
Ivan nodded, âGetting something to eat would be pleasing.â
âOuais ça sonne bien. Oh, uh sorry, yes that would be great.â Napoleon turn to Kah, âEt vous?â
âI could go for some nourishment.â Kah admitted.
âGreat!â Al said, âItâs right over there.â He pointed over towards where the restaurant was.

âAmerican music is just loud noises and random words put together. Russian music! That is where the real music is from! Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov the best classical composer in the world.â Ivan responded.
âExcuse me Ivan, but you are wrong.â Napoleon added. âJean-FrĂ©dĂ©ric Edelmann, is far more supĂ©rieur.â
Ivan nodded, looking at Napoleon with a slight smirk. âI have heard of him. Tell me, what happened to him?â
Napoleon paused, smile dropping. ââŠHe was executed by Madame Guillotine⊠But I am sure that your music is adequate Al.â
âWell, since you French like your romance so much,â Al said, swinging an arm over Napoleonâs shoulder. âI bet I can win you over with one of my many love songs, hmm? After all you still havenât taught me about your French ki-â Al paused, his head snapping towards a sound. âO Del Mio Dolce Ardor!â Al suddenly cried out, eyes landing on one of the street performer playing that song. Instantly he rushed over to listen.Â
Napoleon felt his face warm up when Al put his arm around, and grew even hotter when he heard Al say he could win him over. He smiled when Al got excited over the song. Napoleon himself has heard the song when he and his family attended a opera celebrating the early pieces of classical music.
âIt is beautiful, no?â
âItâs one of Maâs favorites.â Al said as he watched. âShe always dreamed of seeing the opera in person, but could never afford to. If I get rich, Iâm going to buy her the best tickets in the house for this opera.âÂ
âThat is very kind of you. I am sure that she will love.â The teen frowned thinking of his own mother. He rubbed his arm at the thoughts, but shrugged them off before he unknowingly moved closer to Al.
Ivan stood back with Kah, paying more attention to his two friends than the music. He nudged Kah in the side and chuckled, âLooks like you have competition for Nippy!â
âHrmph,â Kah said. âI, Kah Mun Rah lose to no one. Much less delinquent Italian boys.âÂ
Not paying attention in the slightest to the two boys behind them, Al frowned as he looked at Nippy. Wondering why the boy was shivering, Al suddenly realized what the problem must be. And so, Al took his jacket off his shoulder, and put it around Napoleonâs.Â
âGetting cold there, French Toast?â He asked.Â
Ivan rolled his eyes, âAlvin is not a delinq-âŠhe is somewhat a delinquent.âÂ
Upon feeling the jacket be placed on his shoulders, Napoleâs shy smile returned. âMerci, Monsieur Capone.â Even though he wasnât cold he pulled the jacket closer to him, taking note that is had the same scent as Al, of cologne and a hint of smoke. It was actually very calming. âSei un tale gentiluomo.â
âSomewhat being the understatement of the year.âÂ
âNon potevo permettere a qualcuno cosĂŹ carino come tu congelarti a morte, ora potrei?â Al asked as the song ended. Fishing out a few bucks from his pocket, Al through the money into the performerâs bucket. He turned to look twards Ivan and Kah. âYou two wanna do anything? Or should we let the newbie decide?âÂ

âPas mĂȘme dans tes rĂȘves les plus fous.â The Frenchie smirked and shook his head. âNon merci, Iâd rather stay with Al. And Ivan.â
All hostility that had come to Al fled in an instant, and he visably relaxed at Napoleonâs words.
âOh,â Kah said, âI see then. Another time, perhaps?â
Napoleon shrugged, âMaybe, if you are lucky.â
âKah leave poor Nippy alone. We did not come here for you to try to seduce him to your bed.â Ivan protested as he rolled his eyes. Napoleon felt his face heat up from embarassment and he faked a amused family.
âYeah,â Al added, trying to get away from the idea of Kah and Napoleon doing it out of his mind. âWeâre here to have fun in case one of us dies horribly in the near future.âÂ
âSo what are we going to do Alvin?â Ivan asked already bored.
âI figured weâd watch some of the street performers.â Al said. âAfter all, the little Pipsqueak over here,â Al playfully nudged Napoleon. âProbably hasnât gotten a real taste of authentic New York street performers. Plus those with musical experience, such as myself, can judge all of the musicians harshly.â
âMusical expirence, hah!â Ivan rolled his eyes.
Napoleon chuckled before turning to face Al, âI would watch who you call pipsqueak, just because I am small does not mean I will not break your arm, mon cher.â He finished with a wink. âLead the way.â
Al nodded to Napoleon, and began to lead the group around to find a good performance to watch.Â
âSo, Ivan,â Al said as they walked, not one to forget a slight. âWhat musical experience do you have? You seemed so quick to judge mine and I can play three instruments, not to mention having written most of the original songs my band plays.âÂ
