Our Benefactor

As I hand out the gifts for the Secret Santa exchange, I look at the clock, and we have but a mere six hours left before you will all be sent back to your homes.

I dearly hope that you have all enjoyed this experience, and that you have benefitted from it in some way. Whether by relaxing, or by nurturing relationships with those herein, or some combination of both.

That was the wish of our benefactor in arranging this holiday for you all.

Or perhaps...benefactress is a better term.

As many of you will have noticed, one person who should have been here for these two days is not.

These weekend was arranged for all of you by Mrs. Rebecca Shurley.

She wishes all of the you the best for the holidays, and sends her regrets that she could not join you. She does however wish for me to impress upon you that she is doing well. She is settling in well, and is taking full advantage of the oppurtunity she has been given.

However, as she works toward a better state of health, she wished that each of you would be given a chance to relieve some of the stress that has been inflicted upon you by one source or another.

As I have said, while my kind can be merciless...we can also be kind. And we wish to give only what is deserved. These two days, this holiday, as it were, for all of you, was Mrs. Shurley's wish, and I would have been remiss not to grant it.

Just over an hour until the Secret Santa gifts will be distributed. Please be sure to submit them as soon as possible.

Announcement: Refreshments in the North Wing Parlour

When the sleighs return to the manor, refreshments will be served in the North Wing parlour. Egg nog, cider, and hot chocolate will all be made available.

A selection of gourmet cheesecakes and various other sweets from around the world will be available as well.

The fireplace is lit, and makings for s'mores are set out.

Also, we have moved the piano into the North Wing parlour. Perhaps Miss Ariel might play some carols for the group? Or anyone else who might be willing and able.

Due to the anticipated activities of the...adult guests, a room on the first floor of the South Wing has been prepared for these activities.

You will find all manner of items you might require for such activities, and the room has also been heavily soundproofed.

The manor is quite large, and we don't want our guests getting lost. This is a simple solution.

Announcement

Our benefactor would like me to direct you all to the Great Room. Inside, you will each find a stocking labeled with your name. They are filled with candies, treats, and a blank Christmas ornament for you to decorate for the tree.

Decorating materials have been set out. Parents, please note that each of your children has a stocking as well, but rather than candies, they have been gifted small toys that are appropriate for them.

When you have decorated your ornament, please feel free to place it on the tree wherever you wish.
